NCRI-50Regime Judiciary Orders Mostafa Salehi’s Wife To Pay 425 Million Tomans “Blood Money” in retaliation against the universal condemnation of his execution and protests by Iranians abroad. The failure to pay will result in the seizure of his house and property

Maryam Rajavi: The mullahs’ Judiciary abhorrent verdict against the wife and children of Mostafa Salehi demonstrates that the ruthlessness and inhumanity of the ruling mullahs know no bounds. The very people who, under the guise of family members, shed crocodile tears for the Mojahedin, are demanding payment from Salehi’s bereaved wife and orphaned children for hanging him. Shame on this regime and all its advocates and mercenaries. The mullahs must be expelled from the world community. Silence and inaction amount to disregarding the values for which humanity has offered millions of lives.

The Iranian regime’s criminal Judiciary retaliated against the universal condemnation of the execution of Mostafa Salehi and protests by Iranians in different countries by ordering Salehi’s wife to pay 425 million tomans as blood money. If that sum is not paid, the house and all properties of his bereaved wife and two orphaned children will be confiscated.

As such, even after the execution, this savage and ruthless Judiciary, unlike any other part of the world and any other system of law, orders added punishment for the victim who is no longer alive under the pretext of blood money for its punished or wounded agents during the December 2017-January 2018 uprising. The inhuman verdict delivered to Salehi’s wife states that failure to pay this sum will result in the seizure of the house, garden, and properties of Salehi.

Salehi, 33, was a construction worker and also ferried passengers to support himself and his family. His children, Nazanin and Amir Hossein are four and six years old, respectively.

Salehi was executed on the charge of killing a Revolutionary Guard officer in Kahrizsang in Najafabad (Isfahan Province) during the December 2017-January 2018 uprising. He spent eight months in solitary confinement in the Intelligence Ministry’s prison in Dowlat-Abad and another five months in solitary confinement in Isfahan’s Dastgerd Prison. He was handcuffed chained on his legs and confined to his solitary cell without a mattress and a blanket. He had no visitation rights for 14 months and was given only a small piece of bread while in solitary.

The torturers and interrogators broke his limbs and teeth under torture. They severely damaged his neck and spine to force him into cooperating with the Intelligence Minister and submit to a forced television confession. But he did not surrender to these pressures. Finally, Khamenei and his murderous Judiciary Chief, Ibrahim Raisi, ordered him hanged on August 5, 2020, after two-and-a-half years of heroic resistance on his part.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), said in this regard: The mullahs’ Judiciary abhorrent verdict against the wife and children of Mostafa Salehi demonstrates that the brutality and inhumanity of the ruling mullahs know no bounds. The very people who, under the guise of family members, shed crocodile tears for the Mojahedin (MEK), are demanding payment from Salehi’s bereaved wife and orphaned children for hanging him. Shame on this regime and all its advocates and mercenaries. The mullahs must be expelled from the world community. Silence and inaction amount to ignoring the values for which humanity has offered millions of lives.
