Today, Thursday, May 1, the Resistance Units in Tehran and other cities across the country launched an extensive campaign in support of workers and laborers and solidarity with the victims of the Bandar Abbas explosion.

In Gorgan, banners were hung from pedestrian bridges over highways bearing the slogan: “The cry of every worker: death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the Leader (Khamenei).” Similar banners appeared in Tehran with the message: “The cry of every teacher and worker: death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the Leader.” In Ahvaz, banners read: “From the mine to the port (Bandar Abbas), sites of workers’ killings—death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the Leader,” and “Salutations to the workers and laborers of Bandar Abbas; greetings to the martyrs and the wounded on International Workers’ Day.”

A full report on the Workers’ Day campaign will be released subsequently.

On April 29 and 30, 2025, the Resistance Units commemorated International Workers’ Day with widespread campaigns in Tehran and 22 other cities, including Bandar Abbas, Mashhad, Karaj, Qazvin, Yazd, Tabriz, Isfahan, Ahvaz, Rasht, Sari, Kermanshah, Kerman, Bushehr, Hamedan, Zanjan, Yasuj, Qaemshahr, Lahijan, Shahroud, Shush, Saveh, and Kohgiluyeh. These campaigns were held to honor Iranian workers and laborers under the corrupt and plundering clerical regime, and to express solidarity with the victims of the Bandar Abbas explosion.

Some of the slogans, banners, and projected images featured during these campaigns, which took place under the heightened alert of suppressive forces, included:

  • The mullahs’ regime: the most hostile enemy of workers
  • The most brutal oppression is inflicted upon workers
  • Death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the Leader
  • Salutations to imprisoned political workers in torture chambers
  • Death to the principle of the Velayat-e Faqih, death to Khamenei, hail to Rajavi
  • Workers, the impoverished, the Mojahedin are your allies, supporters of your struggle
  • Our resistance has risen to end the unemployment and poverty of millions of Iranian workers
  • The worker is awake, despising both the Sheikh and the Shah
  • Poverty, corruption, inflation—we fight until overthrow
  • Retired workers: enemies of all oppressors—death to the oppressor
  • Salutations to the workers and laborers of Bandar Abbas; greetings to the martyrs and the wounded on the eve of International Workers’ Day
  • The only path to securing the rights of workers and laborers is the overthrow of the religious dictatorship and the establishment of democracy and people’s sovereignty

The workers and laborers of Iran, as the frontline victims of both the Shah’s and the mullahs’ rule, are subjected to the most brutal oppression and suppression.
