Torture and Humiliation of Young People in the Streets of Tehran

NCRI-50Mrs. Maryam Rajavi: This regime must be expelled from the United Nations, and its leaders brought to justice for their continuing crimes against humanity and the violations of human dignity. The international community must not allow this regime to bring medieval edicts to the 21st century

Yesterday, the Mullahs’ regime Supreme Court upheld the inhumane sentence of amputating the right hand of two brothers, Mehrdad and Shahab Teymouri, who are being held in Urmia Central Prison. In another criminal ruling, the Second Branch of the Urmia Court sentenced another prisoner, 32-year-old Arash Ali Akbari, to the amputation of his right hand.

In another development, on Tuesday, October 6, in a criminal act, the repressive State Security Force (SSF) tortured and humiliated five young men in public on the pretext of being “thugs,” driving them in the back of two pickup trucks in the Moshiria area of Tehran. On September 29, 2020, the police humiliated another young man on the street and beat him in front of people passing by.

At the same time, IRGC Brigadier General Seyed Majid Mirahmadi, Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence and Security of the Clerical Regime armed forces, acknowledged that these criminal acts were carried out on Khamenei’s orders. “Khamenei’s main demand is to uproot insecurity in society,” the IRGC affiliated news site, Javan Online, quoted him as saying. Mirahmadi added, “Today, the issue of depriving people of comfort by thugs is an important task that is the responsibility of all armed forces, including SSF.”

According to Javan, in a conference in Isfahan where commanders and staff of the army, IRGC, Basij, and SSF were present, the IRGC Brigadier General implicitly acknowledged that the aim of the repressive forces in the fight against “thugs” is to preserve the decadent system of the velayat-e faqih, which is terrified of the enraged citizenry and the rebellious youth. He said, “If someone in the political sphere wants to create sedition, … if in the security sphere someone wants to commit theft or riot, and if in the cultural sphere one wants to insult the values of the revolution, all the armed forces are fully prepared to confront them.”

In truth, Khamenei, Rouhani, the Judiciary Chief Ebrahim Raisi, and the commanders of the Revolutionary Guards, and their corrupt and criminal sons and daughters are the real thugs who must be eradicated. Those who have launched a brutal onslaught on the lives, properties, and dignity of the Iranian people for four decades. If there are any thieves to be punished, they are the ruling mullahs who are the greatest thieves in Iran’s history and have plundered thousands of billions of dollars of Iranian people’s properties or squandered it to preserve the hated Velayat-e-Faqih dictatorship.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), said that by torturing and humiliating young people in public, and by executions and amputations, the clerical regime seeks to prevent the outburst of the people’s anger, but this criminal conduct only heightens the people’s hatred and abhorrence towards the regime.

Mrs. Rajavi urged the United Nations Secretary-General, the Human Rights Council, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, and the relevant UN rapporteurs to strongly condemn the clerical regime. She underscored that the regime must be expelled from the United Nations for its continuing crimes against humanity and for violating human dignity and that its leaders should be brought to justice. The international community must not allow this regime to bring the Middle Ages to the 21st century, she added.
