Ahmadinejad sheds crocodile tears for Sunnis in Iran

Ayatollah Jalal Gange’i, Chair of the Committee on Denominations and Freedom of Religions of the National Council of Resistance of IranThe Iranian regime President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has appointed an adviser on Sunni affairs, news agencies reported Tuesday. The latest move is as absurd as it is demagogic. Ahmadinejad is a notorious torturer in a regime which has for over 25 years opposed the building of a Sunni mosque for millions of Sunnis in Tehran, and destroyed the Ma’mour Sunni mosque (Feiz Mosque) in Mashad. At the same time, the regime perpetrates crimes against Iraqi Sunnis to intimidate them to submit to a religious dictatorship in Iraq.
Obviously, the result of such a political farce cannot be any better than the appointment of dozens of advisers and officials for women’s rights in previous cabinets, including those under Rafsanjani, Khatami, and Ahmadinejad. They too, never took any effective step to combat the gender apartheid under the mullahs’ regime.
Ayatollah Jalal Gange’i, Chair of the Committee on Denominations and Freedom of Religions of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, stressed: “Our Sunni brothers in Iran must enjoy the full rights and privileges of citizens without any discrimination. According to the legal document approved by this Council (Plan for separation of religion and state) more than 21 years ago, no Iranian citizen shall enjoy any privileges or be subject to any deprivations for reason of belief or non-belief in a particular religion or denomination.”
