Iranians Demonstrate in Paris on International Human Rights Day Against Torture and Executions in Iran

Maryam Rajavi: Realization of Iranian people’s desire for regime change is essential to human rights in Iran, peace in region and the world

A major demonstration was held in Paris on December 11, to observe the International Human Rights Day (December 10) against the mullahs’ bloodletting regime and executions and torture in Iran.

The NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi sent a message to the demonstration which coincided with the One Plannet Summit in Paris. She said, "Saving human rights and environment in Iran hinges on regime change.”

"Defeating Islamic Fundamentalism Begins With Gender Equality"

NCRI - Speaking at a conference at the European Parliament on Wednesday, 6 December 2017, British MEP Anthea McIntyre said: “At a time when Islamic fundamentalism is the greatest enemy we face in the world” and “the question of defeating this enemy begins with gender equality, with women’s rights.”

The conference was held in Brussels on the initiative of the Friends of a Free Iran inter-group at the European Parliament, which enjoys the support of several hundred MEPs from various political groups.

Yemeni Minister of Human Rights: Iran-Backed Militias Have Killed Thousands of People

NCRI - Yemen’s Human Rights Minister, Mohammad Askar, said on Thursday, December 7, that Houthi militants affiliated with the Iranian regime have killed more than a thousand leaders of the People's Congress Party, along with a number of military commanders and pro-Ali Abdullah Saleh citizens over the past four days.

According to Sky- news, hundreds of injured have been kidnapped from hospitals, and their destiny has not yet been determined. Mohammad Askar also said that the Iranian regime-backed Houthi militias suppressed peoples protest demonstrations and insulted women and arrested a number of them.

European Lawmakers Condemn Human Rights Violations in Iran, Express Support for Iranian Democratic Opposition

On Wednesday, 6 December 2017, on the initiative of the Friends of a Free Iran inter-group at the European Parliament, which enjoys the support of several hundred MEPs from various political groups, a conference on the occasion of the International Human Rights Day was held at the European Parliament in Brussels. The key note speaker was Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI). Dozens of MEPs and a large number of parliamentary assistants, diplomats and journalists were present. The Scottish veteran politician Struan Stevenson was also one of the guest speakers.

Denailing Torture and Burning the Head of a Political Prisoner in Western Iran

NCRI - The Iranian regime authorities of Intelligence prison in Sanandaj placed a Kurdish political prisoner under the worst torture.

According to reports, the Intelligence agents of Sanandaj prison tried to force the Kurdish political prisoner, Afshin Hossein Panahi, to false confession and TV interview by Denailing and Parrilla (electroshocking) torture to his head and body but he did not surrender to to the demands of the agents.

Iran: Heavy Prison Sentences for Three Political Prisoners

NCRI - After months of uncertainty, the prison sentences of three political prisoners incarcerated in Gohardasht prison in Karaj – west of capital Tehran, were finally declared to their lawyers.

According to reports, the political prisoners Mohammad Amirkhizi and Payam Shakiba were each sentenced to 11 years imprisonment on three alleged charges. Mohammad Amirkhizi was also sentenced to two years compulsory residence in exile in Nik Shahr of Sistan and Baluchistan province. Based on another report, Majid Assadi, a student activist and political prisoner, was sentenced to six years imprisonment. He was also sentenced to two years of exile and compulsory residence in the town of Borazjan in Bushehr.

Paris Exhibition & Conference, Justice for Victims of 1988 Massacre in Iran

An exhibition and a conference were held today at the 5th arrondissement of Paris, focusing on the “massacre of thousands of political prisoners in 1988 in Iran – Right of families of the victims to learn the truth.”

Invited by Mayor Florence Berthout, the conference was co-sponsored by the Committee to Support Human Rights in Iran and the Committee of French Mayors for A Democratic Iran. A number of political personalities, lawyers and a large number of elected representatives of France participated in the conference and delivered their speeches, calling on the UN, world governments and relevant judicial authorities to show appropriate reaction to this “crime against humanity” which had been forgotten for years, but has been recently brought up in Iran and on the international level.
