Execution of 20 Prisoners in 9 Days and Transfer of 16 Prisoners to Solitary Confinement in Ghezel Hesar for Execution

International Call for Immediate Action to Save the Lives of Prisoners on Death Row

On Sunday, August 4, the executioners of Khamenei hanged two prisoners named Aref and Masoud in Tehran and Bushehr. On August 3, they hanged four prisoners: Hossein Salehi and Morteza Seifzadeh in Tabriz, and Malek Ashtar and Ahmad Reza Tooni in Khorramabad.

On Thursday, August 1, Hamed Parseh and Zabih Saeedi were executed in Khorramabad. On Wednesday, July 31, five prisoners were executed: Kazem Fathi in Isfahan, Fazl Ahmad Fatehniya in Zahedan, Ramazan Gholamian and Mousa Najjar in Mashhad, and Heshmat Moradian in Yasuj.

On July 29 and 30, two Baluchi compatriots named Nabi Bakhsh Malazehi and Mahim Jangi Zehi were hanged in Minab. On July 28, Mohammad Javad Takalou was executed in Baft, and on July 27, four prisoners, including a woman, were hanged in the Central Prison of Khorramabad. Thus, within three days (July 27, August 1, and 3), eight people were hanged in the Central Prison of Khorramabad, and within nine days from July 27 to August 4, 20 prisoners were executed by Khamenei’s executioners.

In another criminal act, on Sunday, August 4, 16 prisoners sentenced to death in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj were transferred to solitary confinement for execution.

This level of cruelty and brutality at the beginning of Masoud Pezeshkian’s presidency shows that whether under Rouhani, Raisi, or Pezeshkian, this regime cannot survive without killings and executions, and Khamenei’s machine of terror and repression cannot be stopped by fear of uprisings.

The Iranian Resistance once again calls on the United Nations Human Rights Council, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran, and all human rights defenders to take immediate action to save the lives of prisoners sentenced to death and calls for referring the case of human rights violations in Iran to the United Nations Security Council. Khamenei and other leaders of this regime must be brought to justice for four decades of crimes against humanity and genocide.
