Iran: Khamenei Endorses Mass Executioner Raisi as President
On Tuesday, Iranian regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei announced his official endorsement of Ebrahim Raisi, the regime’s new president. Raisi was appointed as the regime’s president following the sham presidential election held on June 18, which was boycotted by some 90 percent of the Iranian population. In his endorsement decree, Khamenei described Raisi as “wise, indefatigable, experienced and popular.” Unsurprisingly, none of those characteristics apply to Raisi, who headed the regime’s judiciary branch before the presidency.

Protests in Iran in Tandem with Endorsing Ebrahim Raisi as President
On August 3, the people of Iran held at least five rallies, protests, and strikes in various cities, venting their anger over the government’s plundering and profiteering policies. They staged these protests in tandem with the endorsement of Ebrahim Raisi as the president by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The authorities have placed riot forces in various cities to prevent any potential protest. However, despite the atmosphere of fear and suffocation, workers of Abuhomayzeh municipality, Haft-Tappeh, and Mobarakeh Steel company, as well as drivers and bakers took to the streets protesting officials’ failure to keep their promises and resolve their dilemmas.
Khamenei’s Vaccine Ban Leads to Overcapacity Hospitals and Cemeteries in Iran
While Iran’s hospitals are overfilled with COVID-19 patients, Iranians on social media blame the deaths of thousands on Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who banned the imports of US and UK-made vaccines in January. In the past months, Health Ministry officials talked of importing vaccines from China and Russia and building a domestic vaccine. However, as Iran nears its fifth peak of the COVID-19 virus, health officials say China and Russia did not keep their promises.
