Regime Affiliated Economist: %70 Of Iran’s People Are Under Poverty Line

Morad Rahdari, Professor of Economics at Payame Noor University acknowledged that the majority of Iranians are under the poverty line.

“The poverty line for a family of four is at least 12 million tomans. A simple calculation shows that almost 70% of Iranians are below the poverty line,” he said. “Even if sanctions are lifted today, it will take 30 years to reduce poverty,” Rahdari added, according to the state-run Fararrou website on December 26.

In Tehran the number of victims has reached 115,150, Isfahan 33,930, Khuzestan 29,770, Fars 18,550, West Azerbaijan 18,543, Mazandaran 17,890, Gilan 17,090, Lorestan 16,310, Sistan and Baluchestan 13,605, Golestan 10,720, Hormozgan 8,140, Yazd 8,123, and North Khorasan 6,293.
