Maryam Rajavi’s message to the social security retirees and pensioners who protested today against the Iranian regime’s oppression

Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the NCRI, today sent a message on Twitter in support of and solidarity with the deprived retirees who went on protest in Iran.
“Hail to the deprived retirees in Tehran, Kermanshah, Qazvin, Karaj, Sari, Rasht, Ahvaz, Neyshabour, Khorramabad, Ilam, Arak, Isfahan, Tabriz, Mashhad, Ardabil, and other cities across Iran,” wrote Mrs Rajavi in her message. She mentioned that the Iranian retirees held protests with chants of “our baskets are empty, enough with hollow promises” and “people are fed up with high prices and inflation.”

Mrs Rajavi addressed the protesters and said: “To end poverty, inflation and unemployment, one must only rise up and protest to overthrow the mullahs’ religious fascism and establish freedom and justice in our enchained homeland.”

The Iranian regime’s security forces attacked the rally which was organized by the social security retirees and pensioners in different Iranian cities.

The British Committee for Iran Freedom (BCFIF) strongly condemns the new sentence against the Iranian political prisoner, Mr Saeid Sangar, 47.
According to reports, Iran’s Judiciary recently sentenced Mr Sangar to another 11 months in prison in Urmia after he had served the earlier arbitrary conviction of 20 years in prison, without a day of furlough, for supporting the Iranian pro-democracy opposition, the People’s Mojahedin Organisation of Iran (PMOI/MEK). Mr Sangar was interrogated and tortured in solitary confinement in Evin Prison for three years after his arrest in 2000 and reportedly subjected to 13 mock executions during his time in prison.
Fox News: Iran executes another wrestler despite US, international outcry, reports say
Iran has executed another decorated wrestler this week despite international outcry and condemnation from the U.S. State Department, according to reports.
Mehdi Ali Hosseini was put to death at a prison in the city of Dezful on Monday, Al Arabiya reported, citing a local news outlet. A judiciary official there also confirmed the execution to the state-run ISNA News Agency.

Iran, rallies in major cities by social security retirees and pensioners with the slogan “We cry out against injustice”
Today, Tuesday, January 26, large rallies were held in major Iranian cities by retirees and social security pensioners, based on a previous call to protest.
Most of the protesters are unable to work or earn any more during their retirement and suffer from difficult living conditions and illness. The demonstrators are protesting against the meager pensions they receive and their inadequacy. They chant in their protests: “We will not give up until we get our rights,” “We cry out against injustice,” “Our rights are only achieved by taking to the streets,” and “Our tables are empty, enough with the promises.”

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Monday, January 25, 2021, that the Coronavirus death toll in 478 cities had exceeded 206,300. The number of victims in Tehran is 50,056, Khorasan Razavi 13,965, Isfahan 13,050, Lorestan 8,333, Mazandaran 8,297, Qom 8,010, West Azerbaijan 7,563, Gilan 7,356, Fars 6,252, Alborz 5,308, Hamedan 4,863, Kerman 4,564, Kurdistan 3,536, and Ardabil 2,562.

Five prisoners have sewn their lips together and went on hunger strike
Five prisoners held in the central prison of Ahwaz (south west Iran), went on hunger strike. According to Iran HRM the policitical prisoners Ali Khasraji, Hossein Seilawi, Ali Motiri and Ali Mojadam have sewn their lips together and went on hunger strike to protest at torture and treatment in detention, and denial of family visits.
