Protests on Wednesday in Iran

According to several records, Iranians in different provinces and from various working groups protested on Wednesday. In Isfahan, oil workers in Fouladshahr declared their support for the nationwide strike. Also farmers in Shahrekord and Neyshabur as well as their peers in the southern province, Khuzestan have been reported to have taken to the streets to protest.

Iran: Staggering Covid-19 Death Toll Surpasses 328,400

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, that the Coronavirus death toll in 547 cities had exceeded 328,400. The number of victims in Tehran has reached 76,626, Isfahan 22,215, Khuzestan 20,871, Mazandaran,12,760, West Azerbaijan 12,128, Fars 11,092, Gilan 10,751, Khorasan Razavi 9,990, Alborz 9,333, Sistan and Baluchestan 8,506, Kerman 7,748, Kurdistan 5,542, Yazd 5,507, Hormozgan 5,190, North Khorasan 4,614, Qazvin 3,749, Ilam 3,446, South Khorasan 3,031, and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari 2,685.

The international community must hold Ebrahim Raisi, the new president of the Iranian regime, to account for his crimes against humanity, politicians from around the world emphasized on the third and final day of the Free Iran 2021 World Summit. Raisi, a key figure in the 1988 massacre of Iranian political prisoners, has become notoriously renowned as the “henchman of 1988.” He is sanctioned in the U.S. and Europe for his human rights abuses. And the speakers at the Free Iran conference urged their governments not to deal with a regime whose head of state is a murderer.

Iran Cracks Down on Water Protests in SW City

Hundreds of Iranian Arabs took to the streets on July 11 to protest water shortages in Ahvaz, southwestern Iran. According to Khakzadegan, a local Arab Telegram channel, the protests started because of water shortages. Locals demanded their water rights and the blockage of dams. They gathered peacefully outside the Governor’s building, demanding authorities to respond to the water problems. The state-run Mehr News website also wrote locals gathered peacefully to demand their water rights and water shortages for livestock.

 Iran Oil Workers From 105 Companies Strike For 24th Day

Iran workers from 105 refineries, petrochemical industries, power plants, and facilities related to the oil industry continued their strike for the 24th consecutive day today. Over 100,000 workers in 19 cities have taken part in the ongoing strikes that started on June 20. The campaign was dubbed “campaign 1400”, with reference to the Iranian calendar year.

Just as most of the world has been vaccinated, the Coronavirus pandemic is ravaging the people of Iran with its variants. The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, that the Coronavirus death toll in 547 cities had exceeded 328,400. The situation in prisons is especially worse because of overcrowding and the lack of hygienic resources. There are fears of the Covid-19 outbreak in the women’s ward of Evin.
