Nationwide Rallies and Protests on Sunday
According to reports from inside Iran, Sunday marked another milestone and displayed that Iranians are fed up with the regime’s domestic policies. Pensioners who have been let down by the Social Security Organization rallied in cities like Tehran, Kermanshah, Isfahan, Tabriz, Rasht, Sanandaj, Shiraz, Karaj, and Shush to demonstrate their anger and frustration.

Tehran also witnessed different protests from students, workers of the electric power distribution, and pharmacists who were fed up with systemic negligence and ignorance of their demands.

Today, high school students in Bandar Abbas, Hashtgerd, Qom, Mashhad, and Kish Island took to the streets to protest against the state’s decision to conduct in-person exams and put people’s lives on the line during the fourth peak of a deadly pandemic who’s killed more than 280,000 Iranians nationwide.

Iran: The Staggering Number Of Coronavirus Death Toll In 541 Cities Surpasses 281,800
The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Saturday, May 8, 2021, that the Coronavirus death toll in 541 cities had exceeded 281,800. The number of victims in Tehran has reached 65,151, Isfahan 18,535, Khorasan Razavi 17,405, Khuzestan 17,324, Mazandaran 11,610, East Azerbaijan 11,518, West Azerbaijan 10,478, Qom 9,365, Fars 8,922, Alborz 7,518, Golestan 6,990, Kerman 6,333, Central Province 5,878, Kurdistan 4,872, North Khorasan 4,158, Ardabil 3,592, Hormozgan 3,290, Zanjan 3,110, Ilam 3,001, and South Khorasan 2,661.
Maryam Rajavi: Horrible Human Rights Condition in Iran, Duties of the European Union
The Friends of a Free Iran intergroup at the European Parliament invited some of the members of the European Parliament to an online conference. The conference dealt with the horrible human rights conditions in Iran, the clerical regime’s unstable situation, the nationwide boycott of the regime’s presidential elections, and duties of the European Union in such circumstances.
Iran: MEK Resistance Units Continue to Push for Elections Boycott
During the last week, the Iranian Opposition network continued its vast campaign across the country against mullahs’ sham elections. The internal network of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), known as the Resistance Units, held anti-regime activities in more than 60 areas in 23 cities across Iran. They took to graffiti and spread anti-regime slogans in Tehran, Shiraz, Isfahan, Mashhad, Tabriz, Kermanshah, Ahvaz, Qom, Ilam, Rasht, Behbahan, Meshkin Shahr, Astane Ashrafiyeh, Zahedan, Sabzevar, Qazvin, Sanandaj, Kerman, Chaboksar, Bojnourd, Ghaemshahr, Fariman, and Shushtar.
Iran: Government Corruption, Economic Grievances, COVID Outbreak Trigger Protests in Several Cities
On Saturday, a group of customers of the Azico vehicle manufacturer held a demonstration in front of the economic corruptions court of the Iranian regime in Tehran. The protesters are demanding the judiciary to investigate the corruption charges of this state-backed carmaker. Azico has failed to deliver more than 4,000 vehicles that had been purchased in advance several years ago.
A Father and Son Brutalized in the Political Prisoners’ Ward in Urmia Prison
Dangerous inmates in the political prisoners’ ward in the Central Prison of Urmia beat up and brutalized political prisoners Ebrahim Khalil Sedighi Hamedi and his son, Salar, on May 5, 2021, reports from this prison say. Prison authorities in the Central Prison of Urmia forcibly transferred this father and son to the political prisoners’ ward where, six months ago, they had been harassed by several dangerous inmates paid by prison authorities to do so.
Baluch University Professor Shot by Iranian Narcotic Forces
Iranian narcotic forces targeted a Baluch university professor yesterday on the Zahedan-Khash road in southeastern Iran. The Baloch Campaign website identified the man as Reza Hosseini, a professor at the Suran Azad University in Sistan and Baluchestan Province. Reza was driving to Zahedan for his wife’s treatment when narcotic forces opened fire and flattened all his tires which stopped the car. Despite the unmoving car, the forces then shot Reza, severely wounding him in the head and neck.
Iran’s Government in Search of ‘Public Trust’
Iran’s state-run website Youngsociologists.com: “This (people’s) frustration is very worrying and is a serious warning to the managers, the government and the management and political system of the country, for which they must find a fundamental solution.”
