Canada Spy Agency Says It Foiled Potentially ‘Lethal Threats’ By Iran

OTTAWA, Nov 13 (Reuters) – Canada’s domestic spy agency this year foiled potentially lethal threats by Iran directed against people whom Tehran sees as enemies, the agency’s head said in a rare speech on Thursday.

Dan Rogers, director of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service, also said his agents had blocked attempts by Russia to illegally acquire Canadian goods and technologies.

Rogers, appointed in February, spoke as he presented an annual update on security challenges facing Canada. CSIS directors seldom appear in public.

Before It’s Too Late: The West Must Prepare for Iran’s Next Crisis

Every military commander knows that hope is not a plan. Success depends on anticipating threats and developing contingencies before the first shot is fired. The United States and its allies must apply the same principle to the threat posed by Iran’s clerical regime. Failing to do so would be a strategic dereliction of duty. A contingency plan for confronting and ultimately neutralizing that threat is not only wise—it is an imperative.

In remarks carried by state media last week, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi issued a warning to the United States and its allies about the supposed growth of the regime’s “missile power.” Though much of Iran’s stockpile of ballistic missiles was reportedly destroyed—alongside much of its production capacity—during its twelve-day war with Israel in June, Tehran’s officials have sought to downplay the impact in order to preserve their self-image as a regional power still in control.

What is Reza Pahlavi’s Endgame?

international policy digest logo (1)

Since his father’s passing, the name Reza Pahlavi has hovered over the Iranian opposition diaspora like a dark cloud. The exiled heir of the widely resented Pahlavi dynasty remains a living reminder of why Iranians rose up against his father’s rule. Yet, never one to pass up a chance at reclaiming the Peacock Throne, Pahlavi regularly launches initiatives that debut with fanfare and publicity—only to fade into bleak irrelevance.

The latest example is the “100 Cities – One Voice” project, unveiled at the Munich Security Conference on February 16 with Pahlavi in attendance. The plan promised synchronized demonstrations worldwide, rallying Iranians under his banner. Its first action, slated for April 19, was to span 19 cities. In practice, only 14 events materialized; the largest, in Frankfurt, reportedly drew roughly 20 people. Other “gatherings” were so small that a single person at a table with flags could be counted as an “action in support of Reza Pahlavi.” Project-affiliated websites and social accounts avoided attendance figures and offered no verifiable photos or video, even as they claimed participation in as many as 45 cities.

My Second Birthday – by Dr. Alejo Vidal Quadras

I came into the world on May 20, 1945; however, today, November 9, 2025, I celebrate my second birthday. The truth is that the past five years have not exactly been a bed of roses for me or for my family. In December 2020, I was diagnosed with a large B-cell lymphoma that required a splenectomy followed by extremely harsh chemotherapy. I overcame this serious illness thanks to an outstanding surgeon and an exceptional oncologist — whose names I am not mentioning because I do not have their permission and because, like all those who are truly great in their professions, they neither seek nor need publicity.

Once this grueling ordeal was behind me and I had recovered, exactly two years ago a hitman sent by the criminal and terrorist regime of the Iranian ayatollahs fired a shot at me — aimed directly at my throat, which would have been instantly fatal. But at the very last moment I moved my head to the side, causing the projectile to strike my right jaw and pass through my face.

Afterwards, according to eyewitnesses who described repeated jerking motions of the weapon in the attacker’s hands, it appears the gun jammed, preventing him from finishing me off with several more shots.

Treasury Disrupts Iran’s Transnational Missile and UAV Procurement Networks

WASHINGTON — Today, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) is targeting 32 individuals and entities based in Iran, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Türkiye, China, Hong Kong, India, Germany, and Ukraine that operate multiple procurement networks supporting Iran’s ballistic missile and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) production.

“Across the globe, Iran exploits financial systems to launder funds, procure components for its nuclear and conventional weapons programs, and support its terrorist proxies,” said Under Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence John K. Hurley.  “At the direction of President Trump, we are putting maximum pressure on Iran to end its nuclear threat.  The United States also expects the international community to fully implement UN snapback sanctions on Iran to cut off its access to the global financial system.”

Swedish Government Agency Cooperated with Radical Imams – Despite Warning Signs

During the pandemic, the Swedish Agency for Support to Faith Communities (SST) enlisted the help of religious leaders to spread information about COVID-19. A review by Kvartal shows that several of the imams who participated had previously been flagged for ties to extremist environments — and that the agency neither reacted nor withdrew the videos.

At the same time, reports began circulating that the center was being exploited by the intelligence service of Iran’s caliphate-style dictatorship. The Swedish Security Service (Säpo) later concluded that representatives of the center had been in contact with Iranian security actors and that the facility had been used as a base for intelligence operations in Sweden. In connection with this, the government decided to deport Hakimollahi.

Despite Säpo’s findings, the organization he represented — the Islamic Shia Communities in Sweden — continued to receive millions in SST grants funded by Swedish taxpayers. Only after new democratic requirements were introduced was the federation denied further support.

IAEA Warns on Iran’s Nuclear Stockpiles; Is Regime Change at Hand?

Did the American strikes on Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz end the Iranian nuclear threat? Did Israel’s targeting of its scientists and military leaders force the end of the mullahs’ ambitions to dominate the region through atomic blackmail? Intelligence from both countries strongly suggest that the Twelve-Day War set Iran back at least several years in its push to make a nuclear weapon.

We spoke yesterday to preview the NCRI’s upcoming Free Iran Convention that will take place on Saturday, November 15th. A number of notable speakers discussing the potential and strategies for a peaceful change of regime, although the roster is not yet firmed up:

PANEL 1 examines why Iranian society has reached a breaking point, and why fundamental change has become inevitable. PANEL 2 highlights the central role of Iranian women, whose leadership has transformed the national struggle for freedom. PANEL 3 presents the practical roadmap for bringing an end to clerical rule and ensuring a peaceful transfer of power to a democratic, secular, republican government. PANEL 4 turns to Iran’s younger generation, whose defiance and vision are reshaping the country’s political future.

Iranian Intelligence Active in North Rhine-Westphalia – Hasan Amani from Cologne Fears for His Life

Hamm/Cologne – Hasan Amani speaks calmly and with a steady voice. “I have chosen the path of resistance, and I know the consequences,” he says in Persian during his conversation with wa.de. He pauses briefly so that his words can be translated. “But,” he continues, “for my wife and my children, it is very difficult, and they are afraid.”

According to Amani, the Iranian intelligence service has targeted him and his family. “I am afraid that the intelligence service might approach my children through other channels. After all, we don’t know whom my children meet in their daily lives or who might be cooperating with the Iranian regime,” he says.

Amani, a middle-aged man, appears to be unsafe even in North Rhine-Westphalia — in the middle of Germany — from the very regime he fled when he left his homeland for Cologne.

Echoes Of 2019: Iran’s Regime Caught Between Bankruptcy and Fear of a New Uprising

iran-fuel-station

On the eve of the sixth anniversary of the November 2019 uprising, a bloody nationwide protest sparked by a sudden hike in fuel prices, the clerical regime finds itself in the exact same perilous position. Today, the government of regime president Masoud Pezeshkian is once again signaling its intent to raise fuel prices, revealing a regime trapped between economic collapse and the terror of public fury. This is not merely a policy debate but a fatal symptom of a corrupt theocracy haunted by its past crimes and terrified of an explosive society poised to erupt once more. The regime’s internal discussions and desperate measures expose a fundamental truth: its only tools for survival are plundering the people and brutally suppressing their dissent.

Seven Million Hungry People in Iran

iran-food-hunger

Hossein Raghfar, a state-affiliated economist, stated that currently around 10% of Iran’s population is suffering from malnutrition and hunger. He warned that if current trends continue, “the poor population” will reach about 40% of the total population. On Tuesday, November 11, in an interview with the state-run news website Khabar Online, he described the malnutrition that affects seven million people in Iran, saying: “Even if these individuals spend all their income on food, they still cannot get enough calories.”

Raghfar blamed this situation on the “discriminatory system of resource and opportunity allocation,” adding: “Today we see that the closer someone is to the power structure, the greater resources or opportunities they have captured.”

Tehran’s Contradictory Nuclear Messaging Reveals Regime’s Strategic Deadlock

Sorkheh Hesar Site – Conducts underground and geophysical testing related to nuclear weapons.

Iranian regime officials issue conflicting statements on nuclear talks, exposing internal divisions and a regime trapped between defiance and desperation. The Iranian regime’s contradictory positions on nuclear negotiations with Washington continue to expose its deep internal rifts and strategic paralysis. While some senior officials insist on “full confrontation” with the United States, others speak of a “peaceful nuclear agreement” — a reflection of the regime’s inability to define a coherent path forward amid growing domestic and international pressure. At the Abu Dhabi Strategic Forum on Tuesday, Saeed Khatibzadeh, deputy foreign minister, claimed that the U.S. government is sending “contradictory messages through third parties” about the continuation of nuclear talks.  security.”
