Iran, the Shadow of a New Massacre: A 1988 Repeat Looms in Tehran, when 30,000 Political Prisoners Were Executed
I am a doctor trained to observe and diagnose symptoms. Today, I see the deadly signs of history repeating itself in my country, Iran, and I am sounding the alarm before it is too late.
The ominous echoes of the 1988 massacre, when 30,000 political prisoners were systematically executed, are reappearing. I write this today because I know that five political prisoners have been sentenced to death and separated from the others — a terrifying indicator of their imminent executions.
Their names are: Vahid Bani Amerian, Pouya Ghobadi, Shahrokh Daneshvarkar, Babak Alipour, and Mohammad Taghavi. They were sentenced to death for their affiliation with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) after sham trials. This news comes just weeks after the execution of two other political prisoners, Mehdi Hassani and Behrouz Ehsani, who also belonged to the same opposition movement.

Mike Pence Addresses Thousands at Atomium Rally: “The Iranian People Will Claim Democracy”
Thousands of demonstrators gathered today at the Atomium in Brussels from 2 p.m. to protest against Iran’s Islamic regime. The protesters are demanding an end to mass executions and are calling for a democratic alternative to be established by the Iranian people themselves.
The rally received international backing, including from former U.S. Vice President Mike Pence, who voiced his support for the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom and democracy.
“We are here to support a free Iran,” said Eliza, one of the attendees. “We came from Poland together with our friends and some people from Ukraine, all in one bus, to show that we want the people of Iran to live in a free country. For me, it’s especially important how women are treated there. I can’t imagine how it must feel to be a woman in prison. Women are not free there. It got a little better for a while, but now it has become so difficult again because they have no rights.”
Brussels Rally Against Iran’s Islamic Regime
On Saturday afternoon, shortly after 2 p.m., a large protest began at the Atomium in Brussels against Iran’s Islamic regime. Thousands of demonstrators are demanding an end to the wave of executions in Iran and calling for the establishment of a democratic government.
The rally is organized by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), in cooperation with hundreds of Iranian associations across Europe, according to Belgium’s public broadcaster VRT. The NCRI — a coalition of dissident organizations — called on Iranians from across Europe to gather in Brussels for the demonstration.
Among the participants is former Belgian Prime Minister and former Member of the European Parliament Guy Verhofstadt, who announced on the radio program “De Ochtend” that he would join the march and deliver a speech.

“It’s remarkable to see people coming from so many different countries — you could tell by the buses,” said VRT NWS journalist Jens Franssen, reporting from the scene. “I saw buses from Germany, Poland, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. All these people are here to tell the Iranian regime: we no longer believe in you, and a new government must be formed.”

Yemeni Minister Accuses Houthi Rebels of Manufacturing Chemical Weapons
Moammar Eryani, Yemen’s Minister of Information, has accused Houthi rebels of manufacturing chemical weapons from smuggled components. He told The National his assessment was based on recent intelligence from several sources, marking the first direct accusation of its kind from a Yemeni government official.
“The Houthi terrorist militia has established a factory for producing chemical weapons, under the direct supervision and management of Iranian experts,” said Mr. Eryani.
“The Tehran regime recently smuggled toxic gases and materials used in their manufacture, in batches, into areas under its control,” he added. “Our confirmed sources indicate that the militia has already begun preparing those deadly materials and mounting them on ballistic missiles and drones.”

Lawler Calls on President Trump to Restrict Visas for Iranian Regime Officials Ahead of UN General Assembly
Washington, D.C. – 9/5/25… Yesterday, Congressman Mike Lawler (NY-17), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East and North Africa, sent a letter to President Donald J. Trump urging the Administration to restrict visas and limit the movement of Iranian regime officials during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session in New York.
The letter details Iran’s worsening human rights abuses and its ongoing support for terrorism following the recent 12-day war between Israel and Iran. The regime has escalated a brutal crackdown on ethnic minorities, women’s rights activists, and political dissidents, executing nearly 1,500 people in the past year alone under President Masoud Pezeshkian’s rule.
In his letter, Congressman Lawler emphasized that standing with the Iranian people in their calls for freedom and democracy is both a moral imperative and a U.S. national security priority.
UK Terrorists Being Groomed Online by Iran’s Hardline Revolutionary Guard
Iranian military operatives are understood to be recruiting individuals of Middle Eastern and Eastern European backgrounds residing in Britain as would-be terrorists through sophisticated online recruitment campaigns.
An arm of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) has used the internet and social media to put in place an informal but complex mosaic of sleeper cells and lone-wolf operatives across the country, ready to act at the behest of the regime.
Their role is chiefly to spy, intimidate and harass, but MI5 agents have uncovered at least one major bomb plot which could have been as devastating as the 7/7 London bombings.

Former Prime Minister to Join Iranian Opposition Demonstration in Brussels
An Iranian opposition group is organising a large demonstration by the Atomium in Brussels on Saturday, calling on Europe to take strong action against the current Iranian regime.
The demonstration is being organised by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and over 300 Iranian communities across Europe. Organisers say they are expecting tens of thousands of Iranians at the protest.
Nationwide uprisings have taken place since 2018 against the regime, with Iran now facing new crises with ongoing power outages and water shortages. According to organisers, the regime has responded with an unprecedented wave of executions, including 108 people in July.
Iran’s Mullahs Staring into the Abyss
It’s been a bad stretch for the Iranian regime. Back in April, the former Deputy Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Ali Motahhari, said in an interview that has caused uproar in Iran, that from the start of its nuclear program, the theocratic regime had striven to produce nuclear weapons. He continued: “At the beginning, when we launched the nuclear program, our aim was to develop the bomb and improve our deterrent power”. Motahhari then quoted parts of the Quran’s Surah al Anfal (60): “And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war by which you may terrify the enemy of Allah and your enemy. However, we failed to keep it a secret, and our confidential reports were revealed by the exiled opposition organization Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK)”. This revelatory admission put the final seal on the mullahs’ attempts to renew their nuclear ambitions following the pummeling their clandestine sites received during the 12-day war with Israel and America in June.

Iranian Political Prisoners Mark PMOI’s 60th Anniversary with Vow to Topple Regime
In an act of defiance from within the clerical regime’s dungeons, 419 political prisoners across 63 different prisons, joined by 323 recently released activists, have issued a joint statement to mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).
The message, smuggled out from the heart of the regime’s oppressive apparatus, serves as a powerful testament to the enduring spirit of resistance and the deep-rooted support for the PMOI as the principal opposition to the ruling theocracy.
PMOI Secretary General Zahra Merrikhi: Sixty years of resistance and sacrifice for freedom in Iran
Hail to the great Mohammad Hanifnejad and his comrades Saeed Mohsen and Asghar Badizadegan. Souls and minds filled with goodness and purity, each a symbol of wisdom, foresight, compassion, sincerity, and noble character.
Their teachings, engraved in the conscience of Iranian society with their precious blood, placed truthfulness and sacrifice as the highest virtues.
Though materially empty-handed, they possessed immense spiritual strength in awakening a forgotten humanity that had lost sight of its true power.
Gohar Taheri, 52, Executed in the Prison of Zanjan
t dawn on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, a woman was hanged in the Prison of Zanjan. Gohar Taheri Aghdam was 52 years old and came from Zanjan. Gohar Taheri Aghdam had been imprisoned six years ago and convicted of murder. The execution of Gohar Taheri Aghdam brings the total number of women executed in Iran in 2025 to 33. Iran holds the grim record for the highest number of women executed globally. According to data compiled by the Women’s Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), at least 296 women have been executed in Iran since 2007.
Bojnourd Prison: Female Prisoners Detained under Systematic Repression
Bojnourd Prison, located in North Khorasan Province is one of the main detention centers for women in this province. In recent years, it has become a center of repression, psychological pressure, and the systematic violation of the rights of female prisoners. Women held in this facility are forced to endure inhumane conditions, deprived of basic rights, and subjected to an environment saturated with stress and humiliation. Since the appointment of Reza Estaji as the director of Bojnourd Prison, psychological pressures and restrictions imposed on female inmates have escalated. At the same time, Mousavi, head of the women’s ward, has enforced harsh restrictions and constant humiliation, making life unbearable for the prisoners.
Iran: Hassan Rouhani Admits $500 Billion Nuclear Loss
According to the state-run Asia News on Thursday, September 4, 2025, Hassan Rouhani admitted in a meeting with his advisers that “the opposition of hardliners in 2021 to the revival of the JCPOA caused Iran a loss of $500 billion.” He claimed that agreements were ready during Biden’s presidency, and their implementation could have prevented the 12-day conflict and the snapback issue.
Rouhani’s new admission about the “$500 billion loss from nuclear-related sanctions” is not an ordinary remark but a serious warning for the fragile structure of power within the clerical regime. His words are not merely an economic calculation but a clear sign of deepening rifts and confrontations at the highest levels of power, where the battle for survival is increasingly fought in the media spotlight.
Be the Voice of the People of Iran: Mass Rally in Brussels
Iranians and supporters of resistance to gather in Brussels on September 6, 2025, calling for freedom, democracy, and accountability for Tehran’s crimes.
On September 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM CEST, Iranians and supporters of freedom will gather in Brussels for a major rally under the banner “Be the Voice of the People of Iran.” The demonstration comes at a critical moment, as the Iranian regime intensifies its repression at home and fuels conflict abroad.
Inside Iran, executions have surged and peaceful protests by workers, retirees, and women are met with brutal crackdowns. The regime, weakened by heavy losses in the 12-Day war and growing international isolation, has escalated its reliance on violence and censorship to maintain power.
Iranian Regime Parliament Pushes Nuclear Escalation as U.S. Senator Urges Enforcement of European Sanctions
On September 2, Iran’s regime-controlled parliament issued a statement demanding expanded defense capabilities and greater financial support for the armed forces under Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The move underscores Tehran’s determination to double down on militarization and nuclear escalation rather than compromise with the international community.
The statement urged full funding for missile, drone, cyber, and air defense programs, as well as benefits for armed forces personnel and retirees. Sixty members of parliament also signed a letter to the regime’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi rejecting negotiations with the United States and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), calling instead for Iran’s immediate withdrawal from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
Iranian Regime Outlets Reveal Deep Fears of Public Unrest and Isolation
New proposals by IRGC- and Supreme Leader–linked media highlight Tehran’s attempts to tighten control over citizens, suppress dissent, and shield itself from international scrutiny. Two Iranian regime-affiliated media outlets published new proposals this week that reveal Tehran’s growing fear of domestic unrest, international isolation, and collapsing legitimacy. The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC)-affiliated Tasnim News Agency on September 3 called for sweeping changes in governance, economic policy, and media control to help the regime confront what it calls “hybrid warfare.” Tehran defines this as any combination of information, cyber, cultural, social, and military efforts by adversaries to destabilize Iran.
