Tuesday Protests in Iran
For the eighth consecutive day, workers at Haft Tappeh gathered in front of the Shush governor’s office. The workers want their due wages paid, their fired colleagues returning to work, the contracts of seasonal workers and those in the pest control section extended, as well as the cultivation operations and factory repairs executed.
Today, workers of the Songun copper mine went on strike and gathered in the backyard of the company’s complex. The striking workers were protesting against low wages and poor working and living conditions. The demonstrators were members of the companies Ajin, Neda, Mobin, Noavaran, and Saturn, with more than 15 to 20 years of working experience each. These workers are working with quarterly contracts and despite the very difficult working conditions in the mine, they receive from 5 million to 7 million tomans which is way below the official poverty line in Iran.

Dozens of Schools and Homes Damaged by Earthquake in Kuhrang
In the last 24 hours, 22 aftershocks were recorded in Kuhrang County, Chaharmahal-o-Bakhtiari Province in central Iran. About 50 schools were damaged whereas residential houses have been hit by 30 to 80%. The water supply of Morse village has been damaged due to severe shocks and water is currently being provided by tankers. Some villages have also been similarly affected.
United States Rejects Iranian Regime’s Pledge for $10B Sanctions Relief
Tehran’s request for $10 billion of sanction relief to resume the JCPOA talks was once again rejected by the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State.
In an interview with CNBC on October 4, Jennifer Gavito, deputy assistant secretary for Iran and Iraq at the State Department’s Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs said: “The lifting of sanctions will be determined during the negotiations; so the ball is in Iran’s court.”
Iran’s $10 Billion Trial Balloon
Wall Street Journal- Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has put nuclear negotiations on the back burner for his first two months in office, and it’s unclear whether he’s serious about ever reviving the 2015 deal. Yet Tehran certainly is open to getting paid to flirt with the idea.

Khamenei’s Mosque and Office in Baku Closed
Amid rising tensions between the Iranian regime and the Republic of Azerbaijan, the mosque and representative office of Ali Khamenei in Baku were closed upon official orders from Azerbaijani authorities. The office and mosque were run by Ali-Akbar Ojaghnejad, Khamenei’s representative in Azerbaijan.

U.S. Rules Out “Goodwill Gesture” To Get Iran Back Into Negotiations
Axios- The U.S. will not offer Iran concessions just to get nuclear talks restarted, a senior U.S. official told reporters, rejecting an Iranian demand for “a goodwill gesture,” such as the release of $10 billion in frozen Iranian funds.

Khamenei’s Justice System Executed Another Iranian
The Iranian regime’s judiciary executed a prisoner in Kermanshah prison. According to HRANA, Mashallah Sabzi was executed on Thursday morning, September 30, in Dieselabad prison. The prisoner was tortured for forced confession.
Iran: Coronavirus Fatalities Surpass 448,000
The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced this afternoon, Monday, October 4, 2021, that the Coronavirus fatalities in 547 cities had exceeded 448,000. The number of victims in Tehran has reached 104,996, Khorasan Razavi 36,865, Khuzestan 27,455, Isfahan 30,130, West Azerbaijan 16,108, Fars 16,100, East Azerbaijan 15,793, Lorestan 14,965, Alborz 13,133, Sistan and Baluchestan 12,740, Qom 12,290, Kerman 11,887, Yazd 7,398, and Qazvin 5,004.

Khamenei’s Growing Fear of Protests in Iran
In a speech on Sunday, Iranian regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei addressed security officials and warned about “the hard threat of the enemies,” including the “enemy within” and said, “Security is our most important issue.” Khamenei stressed that security forces, including the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), the State Security Forces (SSF, the Basij, and others must be “a shield against the threats of the enemy.”
As Khamenei made his remarks, teachers, pensioners, and workers (Khamenei’s “enemy within”) held protests rallies in various cities across Iran and were chanting slogans against the regime and its destructive policies.
Iran Government’s Playing With Poverty
The acceleration toward absolute poverty is the adopted strategy and organized policy against the Iranian people by the Iranian regime. Pushing the people to an irreversible line, is including all the fields of the people’s lives, from necessary commodities to ground and housing. In a country where the price of every 30 eggs stack has reached 50,000 tomans and the poverty line has overpassed 12 million tomans, there will be no balance of the prices. Why? Because as many of the people are saying the government and the rule don’t want that the people can straighten their back under the heavy burden of these prices and being busy with livelihood problems.
Torture and Ill-Treatment of Iranian Prisoners Highlights Human Rights Abuses
The ill-treatment of prisoners in Iran has once again been brought to light in the past month with the deaths of four prisoners who lost their lives under torture from prison officials. Despite calls from the international community and human rights activists around the world about human rights abuses, Iranian prisoners continue to suffer at the hands of the brutal regime. Torture and inhumane treatment of detainees and prisoners by agents has always been one of the most serious violations of human rights in Iran.
Continued Detention of Iranian Teachers on the Eve of World Teacher Day
With Iran’s new academic year, beginning on September 23, 2021, several Iranian teachers are imprisoned solely for peacefully exercising their human rights, including through their peaceful activism. More than three weeks after the arrest of the Chemistry teacher Gholamreza Gholami Kandazi, he remains in a state of uncertainty in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz. He was arrested by security forces on September 8 and taken to an unknown location.
