Iran: Protests to Ahmadinejad's visit to western province of LorestanNCRI - The visit to Azna and Aligoudarz in western province of Lorestan by mullahs' president Ahmadinejad met with widespread protest by the local residents.

The impoverished people disrupted his speech by loud noises. One protester climbed up a nearby scaffolding and shouted, "we want justice, justice, justice - people want their rights."

Iran: Call for strike by workers union at Tehran's bus companyNCRI – The workers union at Tehran's Sherkat Vahed (Tehran’s bus company) has called for an all out strike on Saturday, January 28, in protest to detention of Mr. Mansour Asalou, general secretary of the union for undeclared reasons.

In a statement issued on January 24, the union pledged its full support for the demands of the workers and stressed: "The Workers Union of Tehran's bus company will defend the rights of its members wholeheartedly and is ready to pay every price for it including greater hardship, loosing jobs and being taken for interrogations in security centers."

Iran cleric protests shutdown of satellite TV

Hidden satellite dishes in IranAgence France Presse - The managers of a reformist-funded satellite television channel are to take legal action against Iranian authorities for allegedly banning their activities and broadcast, a company executive said Monday.

Saba TV's managing director said they came to understand that their station was being banned by the government days after Iranian security agents tried to confiscate a tape from a network official at Dubai airport.

Iran: Bus drivers gone on strike in capital

NCRI - Bus drivers in the Iranian capital, Tehran, went on strike today to protest against their wages and conditions of work, as they had warned earlier.

The drivers have been calling for improvement of their working conditions and higher wages to meet with rising inflation but their demands have been refused by the clerical regime.

Today’s strike has brought further chaos to the streets of capital making it even more difficult for commuters to move around in the city.
