MEPs have ‘very big concerns about human rights in Iran’

NCRI – Mr. Wim van de Camp, a Member of the European Parliament from Holland, said that his colleagues have “very big concerns about human rights in Iran.”

While the nuclear deal, he said, had seemed to decrease tension and increase economic activity between the West and the Iranian regime, there had been no corresponding improvement in the human rights situation of the Iranian people.

Mr van de Camp cited the upsurge in executions under the regime’s President Hassan Rouhani, and particularly the escalation in their numbers in the six months of 2016.

Mr van de Camp, who is a Dutch member of the European People’s Party, one of the oldest and most influential of EU political groups, invited concerned citizens to join “the official resistance” to hear a “clear statement about what is happening in Iran.”

The Free Iran rally by supporters of Iranian opposition President-elect Maryam Rajavi will be held on July 9 in Paris.
