In her speech, Mrs. Rajavi declared, “The only lasting solution to eliminate the regional and global threat posed by the Iranian regime—the world’s foremost state sponsor of terrorism—is regime change by the Iranian people and their organized resistance.”
Referring to the increasing domestic unrest, she said, “The people of Iran, especially the younger generation, are in open rebellion against the regime.” She described mass arrests, ongoing executions, and the resilience of political prisoners, and called on Western governments to stop appeasing the regime. “France and Europe must recognize the Iranian people’s fight for freedom. They must designate the Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist entity.”
Mrs. Rajavi also revealed the discovery of a new secret nuclear site in Semnan and emphasized that the clerical regime has used diplomacy to buy time while expanding its nuclear infrastructure. “If it were not seeking to build a bomb, it would not have squandered two trillion dollars of the Iranian people’s wealth,” she said. She urged the international community to reimpose UN Security Council resolutions and dismantle the regime’s nuclear program.
May 27 marks the anniversary of the first meeting of the French National Council of Resistance in 1943, convened by Jean Moulin. We must pay tribute to the women and men who risked—and gave—their lives for the liberation of France from Nazi occupation.

Christine Arrighi, Member of the National Assembly and Chair of the Parliamentary Committee for a Democratic Iran, opened the session by welcoming participants and expressing pride in the committee’s consistency and clarity. “Our committee has always stood by clear principles. We oppose any form of dictatorship for Iran—whether a return to monarchy or the continuation of religious tyranny,” she stated.
She paid tribute to her predecessor André Chassaigne, now the committee’s honorary president, noting, “Despite our disagreements on French domestic issues, we remain united on the question of Iran.”
Dr. Alejo Vidal-Quadras, former Vice President of the European Parliament and president of the International Committee in Search of Justice (ISJ), spoke firmly against the failed policy of appeasement. “For decades, the West has clung to the illusion of moderates in the regime. But the truth is, this has failed. There is only one effective solution—regime change.”
Addressing concerns about chaos post-regime collapse, he responded: “This is false. Iranian society is educated and mature, and the NCRI offers a well-structured alternative with a transition plan ready for implementation.” He concluded, “We must support the Iranian opposition under the leadership of Mrs. Rajavi to ensure democratic change.”

André Chassaigne, long-time parliamentarian and co-founder of the committee, drew on the symbolic date of May 27. “We must build a bridge between the French Resistance and the Iranian Resistance. Both have endured smear campaigns and accusations. But we know, from our own experience, what it means to resist injustice.”
He stressed that the accusations leveled against the Iranian opposition today mirror those faced by the French Resistance during Nazi occupation. “We honor your struggle because we recognize it.”
Philippe Gosselin, Vice-Chair of the Constitutional Committee and the Parliamentary Committee for a Democratic Iran, praised the courage of the Iranian people. “The flame of resistance has not been extinguished. The Iranian people have endured decades of oppression and continue to rise. We salute their fight for sovereignty and dignity.”
He emphasized the broad support within the French Assembly. “We may differ in our political beliefs, but on this issue, we are united. We will never side with a terrorist regime.”

Julien Bugereau, Member of the National Assembly, condemned the death sentences imposed on PMOI members, calling them “acts of political vengeance.” He continued, “The regime targets those who represent an alternative. These executions are not about justice—they are about fear.”
He declared his support for Mrs. Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan and added, “This is a clear roadmap for a free Iran. The committee is under attack by those who want to preserve ties with Tehran or restore the monarchy. But we will not be intimidated.”
Jean-Pierre Brard, former Member of Parliament and one of the founding members of the committee, criticized those who describe the current Iranian president as a moderate. “Those who believe the current president is a moderate should be ashamed,” he said. “When asked about his political line, he answers: ‘It is the line of the Supreme Leader’—in other words, the line of the killers.”
Brard also praised Alejo Vidal-Quadras, who survived a terrorist attack in 2023: “The French writer Romain Rolland said a hero is someone who does what they can—but some people do more than what is possible. Vidal-Quadras is one of them.”

The conference concluded with renewed commitment to the Iranian people’s democratic aspirations. With growing support in the French legislature, exemplified by widespread endorsement of the “Iran-2025 Declaration,” lawmakers reaffirmed that standing with the Iranian Resistance is not only a matter of foreign policy—but of moral responsibility.
Maryam Rajavi closed with a clear message: “We say no to compulsory hijab, no to compulsory religion, and no to compulsory rule.”
