Although the Iranian regime oppresses all those who challenge their rule, one organization has been the target of decades of efforts to suppress and undermine their voice in support of a free Iran. They are the People’s Mujahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).
Call for urgent action to prevent destruction of 1988 massacre evidence
During the past few days the mullahs’ regime in the city of Tabriz, northwest Iran, has begun a campaign of vandalizing graves of members of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) executed back in the 1980s, especially those massacred during the summer of 1988. These now destroyed graves were in the Rahmat Valley Cemetery. To this point the graves of 75 martyrs, including Akbar Choopani and Soraya Abolfat’hi, who was executed while pregnant, have been vandalized.
NCRI - On the verge of the Iranian opposition’s major convention in Paris, the majority of the Italian Parliament issued a statement calling for the prosecution and punishment of the perpetrators of the 1988 massacre of political prisoners. This massacre, carried out under orders issued by former Iranian regime leader Ruhollah Khomeini, is considered as a crime against humanity.
The Italian Parliament’s majority statement includes the signature of the deputy parliament speaker, five deputy ministers, four former ministers, two party secretary generals and dozens of chairs and deputy chairs of various Italian Parliament commissions.
NCRI - The Washington Times has reported the official record of the U.S. Resolution 188 entitled "The condemnation of the Iranian government for the massacre of political prisoners in 1988 and the invitation to call for justice for the victims". The representatives of the two parties, Republicans and Democrats, including the chairs and ranking members of committees on foreign affairs, National Security and Legislation, and 46 legislators supported the resolution.
NCRI - Attended by president-elect of Resistance of Iran Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, a meeting was held on June 3, at which prominent political and religious figures from different Islamic countries and Muslim communities took part and delivered speech.
Also present at the meeting was a delegation from Jordan.
NCRI - French MP Dominique Lefevre delivered a speech at a recent gathering held in Paris with Iranian opposition leader Maryam Rajavi taking part and delivering a speech.
“I want to tell you, my friends in the Iranian Resistance and my Syrian friends why I’m here. Our country, France, and other European states are being attacked by terrorism under the banner of Islam. This phenomenon has targeted France in January and November 2015, July 2016 and more recently in Paris. And the last terrorist attack ISIS has claimed responsibility for was in Manchester, being an attack with a far more horrific message than previous counts,” he said.
NCRI - A Syrian opposition delegation took part in a recent gathering held in Paris with Iranian opposition leader Maryam Rajavi.
Heitham Maleh, Chairman of the Syrian National Coalition Legal Committee, delivered a speech in this meeting.
NCRI - On the passing anniversary of Khomeini, States media are confessing that, during the presidential election show, the massacre issue of 1988 and Khomeini’s order for committing such crime came more than ever to the attention and judgement of public.
NCRI - Following the adoption of a resolution condemning the 1988 massacre of political prisoners in Iran by the Piemonte provincial council, the city of Kivasu held a session with the mayor taking part.
Officials from the municipality and the Amnesty International representative in Piemonte participated in this conference.
“There is no doubt the crimes committed by the religious dictatorship in Iran, leaving so many lives lost, will not go unanswered,” Mayor Libero Chuferdo said in his speed while welcoming the resolution.
