Prominent Iraqi cleric calls on Iraqi demonstrators for persistence and patience

NCRI – A prominent Iraqi religious leader called on Iraqi protestors for continuity and persistence of their demonstrations until they reach their legitimate goals. He said patience would fulfill their legitimate demands.

Regarding the threat that members of People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in Iraq are facing in camp Liberty, Dr. Abdul-Malek al-Saadi emphasized: If the government of Iraq claims to be Arab, it should cherish the guests because hospitality and cherishing guests regardless of attitudes and desires is noble Arab quality. He said that Iraq should take care of its guests who have been in this country for a long time and emphasized that the Iranian regime is inducing this situation.

Sheik al-Saadi reiterated that what is happening to Sunnis in Iraq is at Iran’s order. He called on Sunni and Shiite tribe leaders to have a big role in offering whatever they can to these guests.

Dr. al-Saadi emphasized that the demands of Iraqi protestors are not political or sectarian as the government alleges, but rather these demands are to serve all Iraqis.

He reiterated that the protests started peacefully and will remain peaceful. He expressed hope that the government wisely accepts the demands of the protestors and avoids conflict.
