The US House Foreign Affairs GOP also condemned the reports of the brutal crackdown on protesters and called for the restoration of internet access.

“Reports of a brutal crackdown on protesters& severe internet restrictions in Iran are very disturbing. I condemn all forms of violence by the regime in Tehran& call for the full restoration of internet access throughout the country” The US House Foreign Affairs GOP tweeted on Monday.

David Kaye the UN special rapporteur called on all governments in the world to urge the Iranian regime to provide full internet access for the Iranian people.

Following the shutdown of the internet, it was reported on Monday that more than 200 protesters have been killed, and thousands have been wounded.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), called on the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres to brief the Security Council about the atrocities perpetrated by the religious dictatorship ruling Iran, its Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and the IRGC, in view of the rising number of those killed and wounded. She urged him to convene an extraordinary session of the Council.

Iranian community abroad also urged the international community to help Iranian people to have access to free internet. Richard Grenell, the US Ambassador to Germany acknowledged that the West has the ability “to turn the internet on for the people of Iran”.

“We have the technical ability to turn the internet on for the people of Iran. And ensure it is free of government blockers. Europe and America should do it together.” Grenell tweeted.

It is the time that the US and Europe to take tangible actions to stop Iranian regimes’ crackdown on the protesters and work with each other to turn the internet on for the people of Iran. As the regime has shut down the internet, claiming it is done for “security issues”, meaning arrest and execution of innocent people, it is time that the US and Europe to take action for real “security issue” and save the lives of protesters by turning on the internet for Iranian people.
