Iran: The Staggering Coronavirus Death Toll in 347 Cities Exceeds 82,000
· In July, 1,500 Coronavirus patients were hospitalized at Khomeini Hospital in Tehran alone, 310 of whom died.
· In the past 20 days, 15 to 20 people have died in Shiraz, daily. The death toll will double if those “suspected of Coronavirus” are included.
· Massoud Mardani, a member of the National Coronavirus Combat Taskforce (NCCT): The situation is much worse than in February and March; all hospitals are full of Coronavirus patients, and doctors and nurses are exhausted.
· Kashmar Governor: The number of hospitalized Coronavirus patients in Moddares Hospital has increased by 14 times
· Yaftabad Hospital: Since June 21, hospital beds have been filled, and 15 patients in the emergency ward are waiting to be hospitalized daily.

July 2020 was marked by the Iranian regime’s pervasive use of the death penalty and torture, suppression of freedom of expression, and discrimination against ethnic and religious minorities.
Despite having to deal with a catastrophic outbreak of Covid-19, which has killed more than 80,000 people, the Iranian authorities have not stopped their horrendous executions.
The clerical regime executed an average of one person per day in the month of July, to further step up the atmosphere of repression in society. Most notable were the executions of two Kurdish political prisoners and the hanging execution of a man, married with two children, for drinking alcohol. Death sentences issued for protesters arrested during the protests in December 2017 and November 2019 aroused public outrage in the country.

Tehran’s contradictory statements on Free Iran rally highlight MEK’s growing influence
Following the annual Free Iran Global Summit of the Iranian Resistance, this year held online, many Iranian regime officials made contradictory statements regarding the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).
On the one hand, the regime tried to portray the MEK as a small, ineffective, and unpopular group, while on the other, its officials are constantly warning about the threat of this “small forgotten cult.”

WHAT ARE THE IRAN PROTESTS OF 2019?
Monday, August 3, 2020, marks the 261st day since the beginning of the nationwide Iran protests.
The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has identified 755 of the more than 1500 protesters killed by the regime so far.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has called on the United Nations to urgently send an international fact-finding mission to Iranian prisons to meet with the detainees.
