I find it quite fitting that you have gathered to condemn the policy of appeasement, a policy that led to the 17 June 2003 raid, you are also joining together voice support for Mrs. Maryam Rajavi and pay homage to the tens of thousands who have fallen to the cause of freedom in Iran.

following is the text of Mr. Andrew Mackinlay’s video message:

My dear friends I take this opportunity to extend my congratulations on your magnificent gathering that marks the third anniversary of the unwarranted and wholly  unjustified raid by the French police on the headquarters of the National Council of Resistance of Iran.

The mere holding of this gathering under these difficult circumstances, including the recent, very cruel terrorist attack on a bus that resulted in death and injury to dozens of your fellow citizens is truly commendable.

I have been privileged to meet Madam. Rajavi on a number of occasions and I found her to be quite a remarkable and courageous leader who offers hope for the millions in Iran and your region  who are suffering under the mullahs’ rule.

I want to take this opportunity to applaud your efforts in exposing the Iranian regime’s fundamentalist meddling in your country, particularly its continuous and countless atrocities in southern Iraq and the fomenting of sectarian violence.

Your vigilance and awareness of the threat posed by the theocracy in Iran to the security and democratic process in Iran is admirable. What I have found impressive is your solidarity with the People’s Mojahedin as a counter-balance to Tehran’s designs in Iraq.
Ladies and gentlemen
I share your belief that the only way to guarantee peace and security in both Iraq and Iran is to rid Iran of the menace of the clerical regime. I, too, believe that Tehran’s tentacles in Iraq must be severed.

I also agree with you wholeheartedly that the government of Iraq must reaffirm the rights of the People’s Mojahedin to political asylum in that country. By virtue of living in Iraq since 1986, the PMOI has been entitled to that right all along.

I wish you great success and pray for peace, stability and prosperity for the Iraqi and Iranian people.
