Translation of Shahrokh Zamani’s remarks in the video clip:
…so that it would be in vain and bear no fruit and be more easily suppressed.
Refusing to issue permits to lawful demonstrations, severe suppression of strikes and demonstrations, giving heavy suspended-sentences to representatives of workers… with the highest figures of inflation, commodity prices, unemployment, temporary contracts… with salaries equaling a quarter of the poverty line, with 80% of the people living under the poverty line, addiction, divorce, depression, hunger…
Making a deal with the “Great Satan” and drinking the “chalice of poison”, it threatened the strikes by the teachers and laborers. And finally, apprehensive of losing its wealth and power, the warmongers within the regime beat on the drums of war, in tandem with their imperialistic friends…
Long live the first of May, the international day of the struggle of workers against exploitation and tyranny, on with convening labor unions and nationwide federation of workers, long live the struggle for freedom of workers, victorious be the rule of the Democratic Council of Workers.
