Iran: Women protest in Tehran NCRI – Protests and demonstrations by women in Tehran on Monday were partially reported by the state-run media as it took a wide area in the capital. According to eye witness accounts and the media, demonstrators had to move from one place to another to avoid suppressive forces but to keep the protest going. Tehran University students joined the women and staged a gathering.

According to eye witness accounts and the media, demonstrators had to move from one place to another to avoid suppressive forces but to keep the protest going. Tehran University students joined the women and staged a gathering.

In their slogans, the protesters called for freedom and demanded equal rights for women. Dozens of women as well as men supporting their demands were arrested. Suppressive forces confiscated mobile phones and cameras which were being used on the scene. Photos here show women agents of the State Security Forces in action making arrests.
