Iran: The Message of a Prominent Political Prisoner, on the Occasion of the International Women's Day

NCRI - The prominent political prisoner, Abolghasem Fouladvand in a message on the occasion of the International Women's Day stated: “we commemorate the International Women's Day while the Iran regime has always represented misogynistic conducts towards the women during the whole 38 years. They have actually disregarded women's rights through oppression and violence in my country."

The following is part of his letter:

"Khomeini initially committed the crime by forcing the veil or coining the motto of "wearing a headscarf or being an underdog". As soon as the Iran regime began to reign, the women got deprived of holding judiciary positions, working in the ministries or standing for the presidential nomination. The regime explicitly announced that the women take the low priority and they do not have human rights.

Commemorating International Women's Day on the Eve of March 8 in Stockholm, Oslo, the Hague and Gothenburg

NCRI - On the occasion of International Women's Day, an event commemorating March 8 was held in Stockholm, Sweden with MPs and dignitaries as well as members and supporters of the Iranian Resistance.

Iran: Political Prisoner Commemorates International Women's Day

NCRI - In his letter from Karaj Gohardasht prison, political prisoner Khaled Hardani commemorates the International Women’s Day and praises Iranian women’s resistance against the misogynist Iranian regime, saying “Iranian women’s resistance to imprisonment, lashing, torture, and execution, as a driving force and fundamental change in the face of misogynistic policies of the Mullahs’ regime, should be respected, and their courage lauded and saluted.”

Conference Held in Bucharest on International Women's Day

NCRI - Invited by Romanian Representatives Committee For a Free Iran and Ashraf Association, a conference was held in Bucharest, Romania, on Tuesday February 28, 2017.

Co-directed by Mr. Romeo Nicoara, Romanian MP and Chairman of Romanian Representatives Committee For a Free Iran, and President of Ashraf Association ‘Ms. Anda Abicolisi’, the conference was participated by a number of political and human rights activists, Syrian opposition figures, and some of pro-PMOI Iranians.

Young Female Engineer Committed Suicide After Being Physically Abused in Prison

NCRI - The Kurdish news websites reported that a young engineer girl from Kermanshah committed suicide as she got sexually abused in the detention of the Ministry of Intelligence.

According to the reports, Mahdis Mir Ghavami ended her life immediately after coming out of the detention of Kermanshah Intelligence Bureau. The news leaked out on Wednesday, February 22nd reporting that Mahdis Mir Ghavami was summoned to the Intelligence Bureau on Tuesday, January 24th and got jailed for two days. She then committed suicide as soon as she got released. This young engineer had attempted suicide by taking Aluminium phosphide poisoning tablet.
