The ministerial conference on the Middle East, hosted jointly by the US State Department and Polish Foreign Ministry, will be held on 13 and 14 February. The conference will focus on Iran as the main source of instability in the region. High profile delegations from several dozen countries are expected to attend.

Iranian security forces have attacked a peaceful gathering of hundreds of protesters, including many teachers, near the Zayanderud River in Isfahan.
The protesters had come out to demand that the Iranian Regime not continue to divert the Zayanderud’s water to other areas of Iran; a practice that has left the river completely dry.

At least 98 child marriages have been recorded in one Iranian province in the last nine months, according to the Director General of Ilam’s Welfare Organization.
Zahra Hemmati told the state-run IRNA news agency on Tuesday that 98 children under the age of 15 - 94 girls and four boys - have been married in Ilam province since May 2018.

On Monday 4th February, former FBI director Louis Freeh, spoke at a conference in Brussels regarding the Iran security threat. Other panellists at the event in the headquarters of European Parliament included former EP Vice President Alejo Vidal-Quadras, retired French journalist and former intelligence agent Claude Moniquet, member of the Iranian opposition National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) Farzin Hashemi, former Italian Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi and former French intelligence chef Yves Bonnet.
