NCRI - On the eve of the European Union foreign ministers meeting, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, called on Baroness Ashton, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and the 27 European foreign ministers to avoid making comprehensive sanctions against the religious fascism ruling Iran conditional on a UN Security Council decision.

NCRI - As the European Union Foreign Ministers meet on Monday, January 25, 2010, the Iranian Resistance reiterates the fact that the continued widespread political and economic ties with the Iranian regime and delay in imposing comprehensive sanctions against it – under any pretext – would only aid the regime in its bid to acquire nuclear bomb, to execute and torture more political prisoners and further suppress the nationwide uprising that is threatening the existence of the entire dictatorial regime.

NCRI - On Sunday, September 27, 2009, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of the Iranian regime acquired 50 percent of Iran’s Telecommunication Company’s shares after winning a sham bid worth $8 billion at Tehran’s stock exchange. The sale, which took place after an apparently open bid, rendered complete and official the IRGC’s control over the telephone and internet networks of the country. The main purpose of the move is to intensify suppression and terror, curb the nationwide uprising of the Iranian people and prevent people from having freedom of access to the internet.

Iran: Maryam Rajavi urges international community for urgent action against forced 'confessions'

Sample ImageNCRI - In letters to the UN Secretary General, Security Council, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and international human rights organizations, Mrs. Rajavi, the President-elect of the Iranian Resistance warned that those arrested during the Iranian people’s nationwide uprising were facing torture and execution as well as being forced to make forced televised confessions. She called for the regime’s criminal file to be referred to the Security Council and binding measures to be adopted to prevent the torture and execution of political prisoners. She reiterated the need to send an international fact-finding mission to Iran to investigate and reports on the crimes of the mullahs’ regime.
