NCRI – The state-run News on Sunday, October 15 reported that the Commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Crops (IRGC) for Fatehin Special Forces, Abdollah Khosravi was killed on Saturday, October 14.

The IRIB News did not mention the place of death or the way he has been killed. Abdollah Khosravi was one of the troops fighting in time of Iran-Iraq war (1988-1908). He had been deployed to Syria and Iraq as the so called ‘defender of the shrines’ and was the Commander of Fatehin Special Forces. Khosravi was also responsible for recruiting, training, and sending Basij militia forces to fight alongside the Assad’s forces. He had been deployed to Syria with other IRGC commanders as Iran’s military forces were initially sent to Syria in 2012.

The state-run news also reported that one of the members of Fatemiyoun Division, called Seyed Javid Hosseini was killed in Syria in the past few days. It is noteworthy that Fatemiyoun Division consists of Afghan Shiite militias and is also affiliated with the IRGC.

Although Donald Trump talks about new strategies to designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization, Iran continues to pursue its military offshore operations. On Friday, October 13, 2017, Donald Trump delivered a speech announcing that Iran had increased its military intervention in Iraq, Yemen, and the countries of the region after the nuclear deal.
