{"id":10062,"date":"2011-03-11T07:46:11","date_gmt":"2011-03-11T07:46:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/multimedia\/ashraf-liberty\/10062-arab-lawyers-delegation-calls-for-protection-of-women-in-ashraf"},"modified":"2023-01-14T04:17:05","modified_gmt":"2023-01-14T03:17:05","slug":"arab-lawyers-delegation-calls-for-protection-of-women-in-ashraf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/ashraf-liberty\/arab-lawyers-delegation-calls-for-protection-of-women-in-ashraf\/","title":{"rendered":"Arab lawyers delegation calls for protection of women in Ashraf"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"ashraf2_0\" class=\" alignleft size-full wp-image-36940\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2011\/02\/ashraf2_0.jpg\" border=\"0\" width=\"200\" style=\"margin: 5px;float: left\" \/>NCRI &#8211; The Arab delegation of women lawyers in defence of 1,000 female residents of Camp Ashraf has issued a statement on the occasion of March 8, International Women\u2019s Day, underscoring the imperative of defending the rights of Iranian women in Camp Ashraf against the onslaught of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.<\/p>\n<p>Camp Ashraf, Iraq, is home to 3,400 members of the main Iranian opposition People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK).<\/p>\n<p>The statement said women in Camp Ashraf, who are at the forefront of the liberation movement in Iran, have been subjected to mistreatment by the Iranian regime\u2019s agents in Iraq.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese cruel actions are being committed even though women in Ashraf are subject to protections under the Fourth Geneva Convention,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRestrictions on access to medical care and medicine for women is one of these crimes.
