Their victims are residents of Camp Ashraf, 3400 Iranian dissidents who oppose Tehran. In 2003, with the outbreak of the war against Saddam Hussein, the Americans had gathered them in the camp, 65 km northeast of Baghdad. In 2009, the Americans transfered the responsibility for their protection to the Iraqi government, the very government who ordered its army to slaughter them.
