{"id":10709,"date":"2011-06-04T07:43:56","date_gmt":"2011-06-04T06:43:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/statements\/iran-protests\/10709-haleh-sahabi-was-murdered-doctor-says"},"modified":"2023-01-13T22:27:18","modified_gmt":"2023-01-13T21:27:18","slug":"haleh-sahabi-was-murdered-doctor-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/iran-protests\/haleh-sahabi-was-murdered-doctor-says\/","title":{"rendered":"Haleh Sahabi was murdered, doctor says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Haleh-Sahabi1\" class=\" alignleft size-full wp-image-37584\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2011\/06\/Haleh-Sahabi1.jpg\" border=\"0\" style=\"margin: 5px;float: left\" width=\"150\" height=\"180\" \/>NCRI \u2013 A female political activist who was recently killed in Iran while attending her father\u2019s funeral died as a result of a ruptured spleen, according to a doctor familiar with her injuries.<\/p>\n<p>The doctor, who examined the body of Haleh Sahabi at the hospital she was transferred to, said, \u201cHaleh Sahabi was murdered and did not die of natural causes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The doctor rejected the Iranian regime\u2019s claims that she died of a \u201cheart attack\u201d and added, \u201cShe probably died as a result of ruptured spleen and internal bleeding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If she was taken to a hospital and operated on earlier, her life would have been saved, the doctor said.<\/p>\n<p>The Iranian regime\u2019s agents refused to take the body to the coroner to determine the exact cause of death and forced her family to bury the body immediately on the night of the killing.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Sahabi died earlier this week after she was reportedly beaten by Iranian regime security forces at her father\u2019s funeral.<\/p>\n<p>A number of eyewitnesses, including her uncle, have said that the regime\u2019s forces violently attacked her and struck her in the chest and her sides, after which she fell down unconscious.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NCRI &ndash; A female political activist who was recently killed in Iran while attending her father&rsquo;s funeral died as a result of a ruptured spleen, according to a doctor familiar [&#8230;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":37584,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[9],"tags":[175],"class_list":{"0":"post-10709","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-iran-protests","8":"tag-updated"},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 -
