NCRI – On Saturday, February 11, coinciding with the 33rd anniversary of the anti-Monarchial Revolution in Iran, in a great gathering in Paris, thousands of Iranians, while being supported by a number of prominent European and American dignitaries, reminded that a major development is on the way in Iran and a democratic change, as a solution to avoid an unprecedented regional and international crisis, is at hand.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Rise\u00a0(First Part):\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Good afternoon\u00a0 ladies and gentlemen, Madame President, distinguished guests.\u00a0 My name is Larsh Receh, I\u2019m the president of the Norwegians Friend of Free Iran Committee.\u00a0 It\u2019s an honor for me to be preside this great conference.\u00a0 I thank you all for coming here, and participating in this important conference on an important and historic day for Iran.\u00a0 And in conditions where Camp Ashraf is again at the (disjuncture) and needs to remain in the spotlight.\u00a0 I believe that your presence here, as your fellow fighters around the world and most importantly at all the presence of Ashraf show that you and the National Council of Resistance, and Mrs. Rajavi, are the true owners and heirs of the anti-monarchic revolution of which we are gathered today on this 33rd anniversary, the same revolution that was hijacked by Khomeini and his mullahs advocating brutality and cruelty.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Warm greetings from deep down in our hearts, especially to our heroic friends in Ashraf City.\u00a0 I wish I could come and shake your hands and salute your unwavering determination and perseverance.\u00a0 Memories of you are always in my head and heart, as well as my wife, and I\u2019m very honored that in my life I had this experience to meet with you who are there now in Ashraf, and that I got to know such champions as you.\u00a0 You are the true saviors of the Iranian nation from the mullah\u2019s cruelty, which has inspired not only your nation, but the people of the region, and the world.\u00a0 I think this is why the Iraqi government, which now appears as an obedient servant of the mullah\u2019s regime, is attempting to destroy Ashraf and its residents, or force it to surrender.\u00a0 Ashraf is the symbol of a powerful and reliable opposition against the clerical regime.\u00a0 Ashraf residents are the (treasures) of the people of the region and the world to have a better world, a democratic Iran and a region without insecurity, convulsion and sectarianism.\u00a0 Therefore, if we defend and support Ashraf we are supporting dignity and peace. [applause] Or else through our silence we will be in fact assisting war and violence.<\/p>\n
I believe this is the absolute right of Ashraf residents, to remain in the land where they have turned into beautiful city during the past 26 years.\u00a0 And I will never forget the view of this beautiful city, a great city of Ashraf.\u00a0 And therefore, the transfer to what is called Camp Liberty makes no sense.\u00a0 The flexibility of Mrs. Rajavi and Ashraf residents who have accepted this relocation to peacefully resolve this crisis and forgo their sovereign rights is truly commendable, a measure that rightly makes her deserve the Nobel Peace Prize.\u00a0 Although as a person who comes from the country of the Nobel Prize [applause] I must admit that this is not the only reason why Maryam Rajavi deserves such an honor.\u00a0 However, now that she has accepted what has been imposed we cannot withdraw from the camp\u2019s minimums.\u00a0 No freedom of movement to outside of Camp Liberty, which consists of a small area lacking necessary infrastructure such as drinking water and also lacking adequate living conditions and conduct standards, placing two police stations along with 150 police in this half a kilometer vicinity, considering the presence of 1,000 women in this camp makes the status of this camp even more troubling.\u00a0 If these shortages are not being resolved, this is most definitely not a voluntary relocation.\u00a0 This will be a forced eviction, and forced relocation, and it must not be accepted at all.\u00a0 Do these characteristics provide the standards of human rights and humanitarian rights to which even the memorandum of understanding stresses upon?<\/p>\n
By facilitating the conditions regarding the first 400 people, Mrs. Rajavi has taken yet another step, and from this point on it is Mr. Kobler, the United Nations, the European Union and the United States of America, who must act based on their duties.\u00a0 They should either officially resolve these conditions or publicly announce Liberty as unacceptable or we will be forced to expose them.\u00a0 We will not remain silent.\u00a0 On this day of the revolution we can state that a second revolution may be around the corner.\u00a0 Syria, the most stable ally and partner through many years for the regime in Tehran, is about to stumble and fall.\u00a0 We may be about to see a great change taking place.<\/p>\n
As usual I see a long line of distinguished speakers and true defenders of Ashraf and democracy for the people of Iran.\u00a0 It is truly delightful and a matter of great pride.\u00a0 I have no doubt that their speeches today will be a sign of strong international support of the resistance and for Ashraf.\u00a0 I thank everyone for their participation and their support.\u00a0 And please, let us now give a full round of applause for all the panel members. [laughs]<\/p>\n
And I\u2019m pleased to introduce our first speaker tonight, the mayor of the Paris First District, Mayor Jean Francois Legaret. [applause]<\/p>\n

RISE:\u00a0\u00a0 Thank you very much, Director John Sano.\u00a0 I would like to summarize as we are closing here now the most important points from the speeches today.\u00a0 Point number one, relocation can only be accepted if minimum assurances for safety and security of the residents is provided.\u00a0 Point two, Camp Liberty under present condition is not acceptable.\u00a0 Point three, relocation can only be accepted with respect for the dignity of the residents.\u00a0 And point number four, Ambassador Kobler should preserve the rights of the residents and not give in to demands of the Iraqi government.\u00a0 [applause]<\/p>\n
Finally, I would like to extend a special thanks to each one of the speakers.\u00a0 Some of you traveled long, half the globe some of you, and some of you have very busy schedules and you took the time to get here. Thank you very much.\u00a0 [applause] And a special thank you to the three of you who kept the time frame.\u00a0 There were three who did that. [laughter]\u00a0 Thank you to each one of you in the audience here.\u00a0 Some of you came a long way as well.\u00a0 [applause] We are very thankful that you this way express your love for freedom and democracy and your love for your country and for the people of Iran.\u00a0 Thank you very much for coming here.<\/p>\n
