NCRI – Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of Resistance, congratulated Iranian workers on the occasion of 1st of May, International Workers\u2019 Day, and expressed gratitude for their incessant protests and sit-ins against clerical regime\u2019s suppression, tyranny and plundering.<\/p>\n
She called on courageous and noble laborers and toilers of the homeland to expand their justice and freedom-seeking protests.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Rajavi reminded that the machine of suppression, the anti-labor institutions, and the anti-human and savage exploitation of mullahs\u2019 rule against Iran\u2019s laborers and toilers has never succeeded in extinguishing worker\u2019s protests.<\/p>\n
Throughout last year, workers in dire living conditions assembled in front of governorates or principal state centers in Tehran, and closed roads for hundreds of times, and were the vanguards of revolt and resistance against poverty and misery that mullahs have imposed on the whole society.<\/p>\n
The conditions imposed by the regime of Velayat-e faqih through suppression, reactionary laws and decisions against Iranian laborers, is one of the most anti-human working and living conditions for laborers on world scale where the most fundamental rights and freedoms of laborers have been trampled upon:<\/p>\n
– Delayed wage payments anywhere from a few months to one or two years is equivalent to hideous and flagrant theft of workers\u2019 toil that by and in itself cries out the atrocity and plunder by this regime and its allied usurers,<\/p>\n
– A low minimum wage that is far less than the poverty line again this year,<\/p>\n
– Prevalence of temporary or blank contracts that by institutionalizing insecure jobs and denying laborers any choice or option is in fact a kind of slavery in the 21st century,<\/p>\n
– Extensive dismissals that just in the six-month period of March thru August 2012 led to one million contract workers losing their jobs,<\/p>\n
– Eliminating the right to strike and the right to convene free and independent associations,<\/p>\n
– and catastrophic gender discrimination that has imposed twofold tyranny against women laborers and takes away all their rights,<\/p>\n
are all various aspects of Velayat-e faqih regime\u2019s assault against the life, livelihood and freedom of Iranian workers.<\/p>\n
The painful poverty that workers\u2019 families as well as a large segment of all families are suffering from, draws everyday more children and juveniles to the child laborers who are wretchedly exploited in the streets or workshops as the cheapest work force available.<\/p>\n
The Resistance President-elect reminded that the clerical regime believes in vain that through imposition of unbearable pressures on workers it can escape its colossal political and economic crisis. These pressures have now turned into a powerful explosive material at the core of Iranian society that would increase uprisings and revolts forces ten times bigger.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Rajavi called on all compatriots, especially freedom-seeking students and youths of the country to join in and express solidarity with labor protests, and in confronting mullahs\u2019 tyranny and suppression, spare no effort in assisting the families of imprisoned workers and provide the livelihood of families of fired workers.<\/p>\n
President-elect of the Resistance urged courageous workers of Iran to inflame their protests all the more in joining the struggle and resistance for the overthrow of the Velayat-e faqih regime in its entirety and have the steadfastness of the vanguards of freedom in Ashraf and Liberty as their patterns.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
