NCRI – On Tuesday, Turkey’s state-run TRT TV reported that the Turkish police had arrested an Iranian national for provoking protesters at Kizilay Square in the Turkish capital of Ankara.<\/p>\n
The Iranian citizen named Shayan Shamloo had been in contact with intelligence services of the Iranian regime , Turkish paper Today’s Zaman reported Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Citing an anonymous governmental source, the paper reported that the Iranian national was suspected to have played an inciting role in the violent protests that swept Ankara in recent days. The same source also told the paper that the government suspected Shamloo of being in service of Iranian intelligence services.<\/p>\n
In addition to Shamloo, police have reported arresting an additional 15 foreign nationals, also in connection with events. Most of those arrested turned out also to be of Iranian nationality.<\/p>\n
The Iranian regime’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Araqchi denied any role by the Iranian regime in the recent protests in Turkey, state-run Fars news agency reported Wednesday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
