The 100 staff at Azmayesh Factory in East Tehran blamed the crisis on soaring inflation creating a huge slump in demand and mismanagement of company shares.<\/p>\n
Ali Akbar Aivazi, a member of Workers’ House semi-official trade union, said: “Since the production of this unit has fallen to a minimum in the past year, there is no way to pay the workers\u2019 salaries.”<\/p>\n
“Fifty percent of this factory\u2019s problems relate to economic problems as a result of inflation, and the rest is due to the mismanagement of the company shares.<\/p>\n
“This factory used to have 1100 active workers active in previous years, but there are only 100 left.”<\/p>\n
Many of the workers had 20 years experience and risked losing their jobs, Mr Aivazi told the INLA news agency.<\/p>\n
