Larijani said in a report released by the state-run Fars news agency: “In the Islamic republic of Iran no one must dare attack plain-clothes agents, and prosecutors across the country must take firm action against them.<\/p>\n
“For my part, I apologize to anyone who has been attacked and injured while on duty as a plain-clothes agent.<\/p>\n
“We regret these attacks and announce that the judicial branch will take a serious action against such crimes.<\/p>\n
“Those who claim the age of these agents is over is dreaming, and voicing such claims is similar to blasphemy and apostasy. Imam Khomeini wrote in his book on these agents that if any individual denies the work of these agents, they are considered sacrilegious.”<\/p>\n
His warning comes just days after Iran’s parliament held a special session to tackle the growing problem of attacks on female anti-vice police by women resisting the regime’s repressive laws.<\/p>\n
The National Security and Foreign Affairs and Cultural Committees held an urgent meeting after three recent incidents of women defying female officers in public.<\/p>\n
The committee said it discussed new ways to protect those who ‘promote virtue and prevent vice’ on the streets of Iran.<\/p>\n
Ibrahim Raeisi – first deputy of the regime’s judicial system – also said on June 30 that anyone causing social disorder would be ‘dealt with seriously’.<\/p>\n
He added: “If we back down, people will take advantage. We shouldn\u2019t disregard the role of the anti-vice police in the society. If the enemy identifies any weakness in us, they will take more action. The judicial system will seriously deal with anyone trying to cause disorder in society.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
