Their representative told the state-run ILNA news agency that factory bosses had been paying wages late for ten years, adding: “The factory\u2019s management does not allow the workers to form a labor council.”<\/p>\n
He also criticized the factory officials for the threatening workplace atmosphere. He said: “This factory has no problem in its production and selling process. However officials are always complaining about the lack of financing.”<\/p>\n
Factory officials had also hired full-time workers on three-month contracts, and insurance for 150 female workers had not been paid, the representative said.<\/p>\n
He told INSA: “Although these workers have more than ten years work experience, they have insurance for only two years.”<\/p>\n
Workers’ purchasing power has halved in the past year in Iran due to low wages and soaring inflation in the economically battered regime.<\/p>\n
This has left thousands of employees unable to meet monthly bills such as rent, food, clothing, their children\u2019s education and medical expenses. Many are also forced to hold down multiple jobs to make ends meet, state media reported.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
