He said that a terrorist group linked to the Iranian regime had tried to recruit activists for military training in Syria and Iran to stage possible attacks in Jordan and said it had found new weapons that included Iranian rocket launchers.<\/p>\n
Government spokesman Nasser Joudeh told reporters details of the plot were revealed during interrogations of 20 militants arrested by security forces last month.<\/p>\n
"This terrorist group was trying to recruit elements in Jordan and abroad to send to Syria and Iran for military training," Joudeh said.<\/p>\n
Jordan revealed last month that rocket launchers, detonators and explosives seized from a secret arms cache in the kingdom were smuggled from Syria.<\/p>\n
"The security forces believe there are more weapons and rocket launchers that have not been uncovered yet … Among the weapons seized recently were Iranian rocket launchers," he said.<\/p>\n
"This poses a major threat to the national security of the country and we will hold those behind this accountable," Joudeh said.
The Al-Jazeera Television also revealed the seizure of Iranian made weapons and detention of militias in Jordan who were trained and armed by the Iranian regime. <\/p>\n
