NCRI – A council of Iraqi tribal leaders in Iraq has blamed Nouri al-Maliki for the deadly attack on Camp Ashraf residents and called for an independent investigation into the massacre.<\/p>\n
Baghdad Tribes Council of Sheiks declared in a statement: “We place the blame for the assault on Camp Ashraf and killing of 52 of its residents and the abduction of seven residents on Maliki in coordination with the Iranian regime because Camp Ashraf is in an area surrounded by Maliki\u2019s forces and no one can approach the area without permission from Government of Iraq.”<\/p>\n
“We therefore call on United Nations and the Secretary-General to secure immediate release of the hostages.”<\/p>\n
“Moreover, UN must protect Liberty residents with its Blue Helmets and must conduct an investigation into the atrocity perpetrated in Ashraf by dispatching a fact finding mission.”<\/p>\n
At the behest of the Iranian regime, the Iraqi forces under the command of Nouri al-Maliki attacked Camp Ashraf on September 1 and killed 52 members of the Iranian opposition, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK).<\/p>\n
