NCRI – The hunger strike by Camp Liberty residents that has began on September 1 following the massacre and mass execution of residents of Camp Ashraf is enters its sixth week.<\/p>\n
The strikers demand immediate release of seven Camp Ashraf hostages, including 6 women, who were abducted during the Iraqi forces\u2019 raid on Camp Ashraf.<\/p>\n
During the attack, also Iraq forces executed 52 members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK). Many shot dead while handcuffed. Some were shot dead in the camp’s clinic along with nurses.<\/p>\n
Based on the most recent documents obtained by the Iranian Resistance from inside the Iranian regime, the hostages are under Nouri al-Maliki\u2019s control who personally orders their repeated relocation and changing their detention place or the guards. These documents are presentable to any international tribunal.
Physical conditions of many strikers are adverse. They are suffering problems such as headache, dizziness, digestive problems, skeletal pains, blurred vision, loss of hearing, and sleep disturbances, and have been hospitalized.<\/p>\n
Iranians in Geneva, London, Ottawa, Berlin, and Melbourne are also continuing their hunger strike. They are also suffering similar problems. A number of them have been sent to hospital over recent days, some of whom have been hospitalized due to their dire conditions and are under special medical care.<\/p>\n
While reminding U.S. and UN of their official and written commitments with regard to the Camp Ashraf residents, the Iranian Resistance calls on them to take immediate action for the release of the seven Camp Ashraf hostages who are all protected persons under the 4th Geneva Convention, recognized as asylum-seekers and people of concern.<\/p>\n
