Dr Massoumeh Bluorchi, NCRI representative in Germany, called for international action to release seven hostages taken captive during the September 1 massacre and for the UN to send blue helmet troops to protect the remaining Iranian refugees in Camp Liberty, Iraq.<\/p>\n
She told a gathering of Iranians in Berlin: “For me, the martyrdom of 52 of my dearest sisters and brothers and also my heroic son, Rahman, is cause for much pain and suffering.<\/p>\n
“I can never believe I will not see and hug him again because I see him in the face of each one of you and your determination to overthrow the regime.<\/p>\n
“As far as the Iranian Resistance and Camp Ashraf are concerned, the perseverance in Ashraf is the brightest guiding light and source of pride and strong resolve and formation of new steadfastness for victory.<\/p>\n
“But as far as appeasers of the mullahs in the UN, US and Europe are concerned, this massacre is cause for their shame and disgrace because we repeatedly warned verbally and in writing in our letters, meetings, conferences and gatherings that the Iraqi government is planning for another human disaster at the behest of the Iranian regime.<\/p>\n
“But in response there was no practical action by the German government, the US government or the United Nations.”<\/p>\n
Mrs Bluorchi said she had three key demands: firstly to put pressure on the Iraqi government to release the hostages; secondly station a permanent UN monitoring team and Blue Helmet troops at Liberty; and thirdly launch an independent UN investigation into the September 1 atrocity.<\/p>\n
On September 1, Iraqi forces attacked Camp Ashraf and killed 52 members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK). They also took seven residents hostages including six women.<\/p>\n
Since that day, a worldwide hunger strike is being held by Iranian dissidents including hundreds of residents of Camp Liberty as a part of an international campaign urging the U.S. Government and the United Nations to act to free seven Camp Ashraf residents taken hostage by Iraqi forces under the command of Nouri Al-Maliki.<\/p>\n
