NCRI – Reacting to the report published by the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran, the government of Hassan Rohani has said that the Iranian state ” does not recognize the UN Rapporteur. “<\/p>\n

In a report presented to the United Nations’s General Assembly on Wednesday, October 23, Ahmed Shaheed stressed that “the human rights situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran continues to warrant serious concern, with no sign of improvement”.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Marzieh Afkham , said: ” Appointment of a Special Rapporteur on Human Rights for Iran is an insult to the great Iranian nation. “<\/p>\n

Since Hassan Rouhani has taken office, Dr. Ahmad Shaheed , the Special Rapporteur of the UN twice has asked to visit Iran but Rouhani has opposed it.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson added that “terrorists and violent groups ” are the sources of its reports.<\/p>\n

Ahmad Shaheed said: ” In 2012, the UN bodies working in the field of human rights have sent 28 letters to the Islamic Republic, but has only eight of these letters have been answered and visa applications for UN personnel wishing to visit has Iran remained unanswered .<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
