Among those being denied treatment are prisoners named as Ahmad and Mohsen Daneshpour Moqaddam, Hamid Naqibi, Davoud Asadi, Morteza Mohammadi, Ali Reza Ahmadi, Nader Jani, Yashar Darolshafa, Ahmad Reza Moradi, Alireza Beheshti, Hossein Ronaghi, Asghar Mahmoudian and Kayvan Samimi.<\/p>\n
Two others prisoners, Ismail Barzegar and Mohammad Hassan Yousefi, have also gone on hunger strike in protest at inhumane conditions in the prison.<\/p>\n
Prisoner Ismail Barzegar has also been refusing to eat since October 25 after explaining in a letter that following his arrest on May 10 on charges of ‘independence’, he was held for eight days in a dungeon cell.<\/p>\n
He was then transferred to solitary confinement for six months where he was charged with espionage and endured further psychological torture.<\/p>\n
Reports have also emerged of Sunni prisoner Showan Sharifi who has been kept in prison for two years without charge. The former teacher of religion has spent 18 months in solitary confinement and was tortured and by intelligence forces.<\/p>\n
Four other Sunni political conscience prisoners have been finally been summoned to the prosecutor after four years without charge, according to other reports.<\/p>\n
The four were arrested in 2009 and spent eight months in solitary confinement before being transferred to wards 240 and 209 of Evin Prison.<\/p>\n
Nine hunger striking political prisoners in Rajai Shahr, in Karaj, have also been threatened by prison officials after their protest the installation of mobile phone jamming signals in the prison that cause cancer, vomiting, dizziness and dryness of the mouth.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
