Memorial services are being held in Tehran, Mashhad, Isfahan and Qum for Afghan refugees who went to Syria “to defend the religious supremacy,” Iranian regime state-run media reported.<\/p>\n
A number of officials of the Iranian regime attended the memorial services held for the Afghans killed in Syria.<\/p>\n
The reports did not indicate when these refugees had been killed in Syria.<\/p>\n
The rising number of those killed in Syria indicates the growing dispatch of Afghan refugees to Syria by the Iranian regime.<\/p>\n
In August a commander of Iranian regime Quds force was killed in Syria. The Syrian opposition also published a video that the same commander was speaking about the Iranian regime’s forces carrying out military operations in Syria.<\/p>\n
Javad Ghoddusi Karimi, a member of the regime\u2019s Majlis’ (parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission provided more details on the IRGC\u2019s presence in Syria.
He said on November 4: “Hundreds of battalions from Iran are present in Syria. Although you hear the news of the Syrian Army\u2019s victories through a Syrian commander, it is actually Iranian forces that are behind the scene. (When the US announced possible attacks against Syria) in the days when all embassies in Damascus were closed, Iran\u2019s official delegation, along with their families, were there in the scene which was encouraging for Bashar al-Assad.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
