NCRI – Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, welcomed adoption of the 60th resolution condemning systematic and barbaric violation of human rights in Iran by mullahs\u2019 regime.<\/p>\n
Noting stipulations by this resolution regarding the escalating trend of executions, torture and inhuman punishments, especially execution of minors and group executions, she said: After Vali-e faqih\u2019s (the regime’s supreme leader) defiance vis-\u00e0-vis 60 UN resolutions condemning violation of human rights in Iran, verbal condemnations are no longer sufficient and regime\u2019s dossier must be referred to the Security Council and the International Criminal Court.<\/p>\n
The Western countries and United Nations must espouse the will of Iranian people for the release of political prisoners and they ought to condition their economic relations with this regime to the cessation of executions, she said.<\/p>\n
Nothing less is acceptable to the Iranian people whose children throughout Iran, from Kurdistan, Sistan and Baluchistan, and Khuzestan to Tehran, Ashraf and Camp Liberty are victims of mass executions, she added.<\/p>\n
Given the spike in the Iranian regime\u2019s atrocities following the sham election in June, including execution of over 400 prisoners, any welcoming or placating of Hassan Rouhani and endorsing of the sham election feeds fuel to the machine of suppression and massacre, Rajavi said.<\/p>\n
She said: West\u2019s silence in face of violation of human rights in Iran and the wave of incessant executions is abhorring. The massacre of Camp Ashraf residents was a crime against humanity. The massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in 1988 was also a crime against humanity which met silence of the international community while it must be investigated by the UN Security Council, especially since rulers of Tehran today are the very people who ordered and perpetrated that massacre and still defend that massacre. It is regrettable that Western officials, in their visits to Tehran, shake hands with the perpetrators of that massacre.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Rajavi warned the P5+1 countries not to let the regime’s violations of human rights in and its terrorism and warmongering in the region, especially in Syria and Iraq, be overshadowed by the nuclear negotiations.
She reiterated that this conciliatory policy will assist the regime in the killing of Iranian people and threaten regional and global peace and tranquility. This regime must be banished from the international community.<\/p>\n
