An influential member of mullahs’ Parliament in Iran has revealed the creation of a council composed of the highest authorities to regulate Hassan Rouhani’s government in its negotiations with the 5 +1 group.<\/p>\n
Quoted by state-run Fars news agency, Ismail Kosari, a member of the Committee of National Security and Foreign Policy of the mullahs\u2019 parliament, said: “Nuclear talks with the 5 +1 group were not entirely in favor of Iran… two new members were added to the Supervisory Board of nuclear negotiations.”<\/p>\n
The leader of the Iranian negotiators, Mohammad Javad Zarif , has been sharply criticized by various factions of the regime for its conduct of negotiations with the West .<\/p>\n
The supervisory council\u2019s now includes one representative from Hassan Rouhani\u2019s government, one from the judiciary, one from the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran and three members of Parliament, the semiofficial Mehr News Agency reported.<\/p>\n
“Given the results obtained in the first steps of the Geneva negotiations, it was agreed to add two new members to the council to determine in detail the action to be taken by the negotiating team,” said Ismail Kosari.<\/p>\n
Before the election of Hassan Rouhani , the Supreme National Security Council was responsible for nuclear talks. This responsibility was then assigned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. However, according to the Mehr news agency , “after the last round of negotiations in Geneva, criticisms have emerged among the experts about the Geneva Agreement.”<\/p>\n
