January 5: More than 100 truck drivers in the province of Kermanshah staged a protest against customs officials extorting money from them on a daily basis. Truck drivers claim that if they do not pay bribes, they are blocked for days in customs, and physically attacked if they complain.<\/p>\n
January 5: Workers of Kamyab sugar cane factory in the city of Khomeini Shahr staged protest in the factory in anger at unpaid wages, the continuous halt of the production line and uncertain future of the factory that has lasted for almost 11 months and is putting their jobs at risk. The protesters then marched towards the governor\u2019s office and continued their protest.
