An Iranian graduate student at the Georgia Institute of Technology suffered severe burns on his \u201chands, arms, chest, and face\u201d after a Molotov cocktail he had constructed misfired.<\/p>\n
Saamer Akshabi, who is from Iran and studying in the U.S., \u201cwas taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with third-degree burns over 90 percent of his body,\u201d according to CBS\u2019s Atlanta affiliate.<\/p>\n
It is unclear if Akshabi\u2019s technology studies include the construction of highly flammable explosives.<\/p>\n
Georgia Tech said in a statement that it is working with law enforcement, according to CBS:<\/p>\n
Georgia Tech is working with law enforcement to notify the victim\u2019s family. Until that notification is made the Institute is not able to release the victim\u2019s information. We are able to confirm a Georgia Tech graduate student was involved in an incident involving a fire in a building off of 10th street this evening. Our primary concern is to provide appropriate assistance to the victim and for his family as well as his classmates.
