NCRI – The four-day telethon by the Iran opposition satellite Channel, Simay-e Azadi (Iran National Television – IRANNTV) is now broadcasting live on the Internet with simultaneous English translation, according to the TV program\u2019s official facebook page.<\/p>\n

“Simay-e Azadi” facebook page announced Sunday, August 24, 2014 that its worldwide fundraising campaign is being broadcast live with English translation on the Internet on the following link:<\/p>\n

The Iranian regime has been trying desperately to jam the broadcasts of the none-profit satellite TV channel, IRANNTV because of its reports on the violations of human <\/a>rights and uncensored, accurate information on the domestic situation in Iran as well as its reports on developments outside Iran, which millions of Iranians are unable to receive because of the media crackdown by the regime.<\/p>\n

The satellite channel has also been a major source of information on the Iranian regime\u2019s meddling in the affairs of other countries, particularly in Syria, Iraq and elsewhere in the region, and its attempts to obtain nuclear weapons.<\/p>\n

The four-day telethon which began Friday August 22nd, has been enthusiastically received as Iranians in and out of Iran have been waiting long hours behind phone lines to call and announce their collective or personal contributions. Others have sent their donations via internet and through PayPal.<\/p>\n

On August 14 last year, the Iranian regime’s security forces announced the arrest of 107 people and the confiscation of 16,000 satellite dishes in 19 cities in a wave of crackdown to confront the rise in satellite viewership.<\/p>\n
