The office of the newspaper was locked and sealed.<\/p>\n<p>Azeri speaking population, offended by a cartoon published in a state-run daily in May, held mass demonstrations and protests in northwestern provinces and clashed with suppressive forces when they attacked government buildings and state-owned banks. Dozens of people were reported killed and many more wounded and arrested during the unrests which went on for over two weeks.
